Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Nice public course
I played this course because the course (only one open on Mondays} at my country club was closed for a tournament (not real happy about that). I've played this course several times over the years and it's quite nice for a public course but as always has been the case in the past and true this time, the pace of play is very slow. I believe this it because the clientele just doesn't "get it" when it comes to golf etiquette. The group in front of us was hitting multiple tee shots on just about every hole and even as many as 3 shots from the fairway. (I'm talking each golfer in the 4-some, idiots!) There are also a few "blind" holes which slows the pace a bit.
Funny there is a "did you walk" mandatory choice, but this course and many others don't allow walking. It's a shame about the pace of play at this course as it's always been in very nice condition when I've played and was in as good condition as my country club, which is saying a lot this time of year in Texas for a public course.
Winter golf
This course is one of the better ones in the area right now for winter golf, but pace of play is a big issue.
Yote this shiz
Thy continue to improve and make this course one of the best value in the dfw metroplex ! Workers working hard to keep the poana out of greens. Great great staff
Great shape:
The course is in emxcellent shap for this time of year. In fact, better than all I have played this winter. Mr. Moon does a fantastic job on the course and in the Clubhouse. Moreover, he greeted me, as well as others at the Pro Shop door when I arrived...
Thanks
Fantastic
I booked via hotdeal. Soft and simless green, friendly staffs. Grill 19 was also very nice.
Fun
Good fun layout. Great bar and restaurant. For the money it’s a great deal.
Always a good course
As always the course was in good condition for end of December. Greens rolled nice....
Great course conditions
Played on a Friday morning. Course was not busy at all. In fact, one of the marshalls even invited us to hit an extra ball or two if we wanted because it was so open. The greens were FAST and perfect. The fairways were cut very tight and the bunkers had good sand. Only a few minor cart path and fairway irrigation/drainage blemishes. The electric carts are nice, and the food from the grill was quite good, although the fries could have been better. Friendly staff. Not-so-friendly golf course. There are some long par 3's, some very narrow areas, and number 10....simply tough! Had a great time and will be back soon. BTW...one of, if not the nicest clubhouse of any public course in town.
Greens are in great shape
Greens are amongst some of the best this winter. Had a frost delay. But that was expected.
Great challenge
Course in great condition for time of year, the design is eclectic with an "easier" front nine and a tougher back nine. Plenty of elevation changes and with windy conditions club choice was not straightforward,
Definitely one to return to.
Staff
Everything was great with the exception the service in the pro shop. I asked for range balls to warm up. The man behind the counter looked out the window and said "just hit the balls out there". I went outside and found about 5-6 balls laying around the range. I went back inside and then he decides to give me some balls out of a large trash can. Why couldn't he have done that to begin with??
