About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

Great Course for the money !
Beautiful golf course and the staff was super friendly. When we went it was very busy but the staff made sure all groups teed off on time.
Back in golf after 20 years
Fun course to play. Only thing needed GPS in the carts or in your phone
Marginal all the way around
There were frost delays first thing in the morning and so about 10 groups were backed up on the start. Instead of sending people off the front and the back, they stated “we don’t do that“ and had everyone delayed for at least 30 minutes. Groups were not sent out by size or pace, and those things weren’t really accounted for and the time in between groups. The course conditions were OK… Definitely nothing to write home about. In general, everyone we encountered that work, there was somewhat apathetic to the guest experience, and for that reason along with the fact that there are many other options, we probably will not return.
Sooo slow.
Why do they let groups of 5 play? And these guys mark Every putt…. no one starts putting and putts out! I was a single - joined up with another golfer- we joined two more golfers and waited to hit every shot -every hole. Love the course - but not when it’s so slow!
Nice course
Must question why the back nine restrooms are locked closed at 4:20 PM with many players still on the back nine trying to finish their round. Where are we supposed to go to the restroom? In the woods? Would you want your wife or children to have to go in the woods? Going in the woods would be very difficult at this course, due to many neighboring adjoining houses showing signs saying "posted, no trespassing". Am I the only one thinking that this practice is very inconsiderate to the players, who also happen to be paying customers.
I am very sorry about this. Bathrooms were closed too early. I will speak to our cart staff.
Challenge
Handicap 16+, it’s always a challenge when out on the course. 62 years of age, 3 years of playing. Love the scenery and love the layout. The staff is friendly and the restaurant serves top quality food and drinks.
Really beautiful and challenging golf course. A real jewel!

Never played here before. Nice course. Pretty, good price, nice staff.
Not too shabby
Was my buddy and I first time playing the course. Overall I’d give it a B-. Not a big fan of the front 9, but the back 9 was much much better. Overall the course is extremely well maintained. The greens were nice, albeit a little fast. Fairways and rough were very well manicured. Definitely will be playing again and would recommend to anyone!

Best Value in the area
The course went through a redesign and hole #2 is a gimmicky hole. Other than that, there’s some risk / reward holes like a short par 4 with a narrow green and water protecting the run-up on the left side and two finishing par 5’s that can be reachable with a drive in the fairway. The staff is incredible and have always treated us like family. Julianna’s restaurant is a hidden gem with delectable food and a great drink variety. I would recommend this course / restaurant to anyone visiting the Hill country in Texas.

Called Steven to explain frost delays. And why we don’t start people on both sides. Basically it causes a train wreck on the #1 tee when those that started on the back turn to the front. I also explained why there can be no one on frozen grass. Well instead of being reasonable, he was very rude. Just know we try to protect our tee sheet and customers. We certainly can not predict or change the weather. I guess some people just like to complain and be rude.
