About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

Great little course
This course is pretty easy but still a lot of fun. Good condition all round and the staff are really friendly

It Wants to be Special, but Strikenly Average.
The course is good and cheap if you're looking for a round to just get some practice in that's more invigorating than pounding balls at the driving range. It's mostly mowed down pasture land with greens strewn about. The staff are way too pretentious about the place and act like you should kiss the brass ring to play it.
It's a fun little course the guys and I like to play and we'll go time and time again to. Get a fast cheap round in. If your new to the course just be aware that it's not a typical Country Club course, and possibly a little worse than your average muni.

Great except for greens
I liked the course a lot, coming from New Braunfels the layout was worth the drive. I wish I had known the greens had been aerated recently though. They were still very bumpy. Also par three’s had some spray paint on them to give yardages, not specific to which tee box they were meant for.
A for effort
The course was in very good condition for being in the drought!! Greens were slow but playable, tee boxes were hard but had grass, fairways were friendly with a lot of roll. They are watering as much as possible and I definitely give them an A for effort !! The price was right for the condition. Thanks for trying so hard guys, it shows.
Post course conditions
The greens had been areated, driving range closed and carts were path only.
I know all this is necessary at times, but I don’t play without the ability to warm up at the driving range, and cart path only really slowed pace of play.
Posting these conditions would have saved me time, money and aggravation.

We posted the CPO and closure of the driving range Thursday evening, August 11, 2022 on all our social media pages, alerted our answering service, and sent an eblast to our customers (that we have the email for). We tried to alert people to the best of our ability about course conditions on Friday August 12, 2022. Sorry you did not call ahead. We did receive substantial rainfall on the 11th.

Course is always in great condition
Just played 18 here and the only thing that I could possibly complain about is pace of play. Took around 5 and a half hours, but the course condition makes it worth it
Overall solid condition
Everything was good. I wish they would let you know when they sanded the greens. But other than that all was good !
Sorry we only got two stars! I am glad you thought our staff was friendly. Since we just aerated, the greens are a little suspect. Thank you for your business.
Alsatian Golf Club
The course was in good shape (especially the greens) considering the drought we are experiencing. Some dry spots and dirt on the fairways. Staff is very helpul and the restaurant has an assortment of delicious food.

Good option for the area
It’s been one of the hotter, drier summers I can remember. I’d say they have done alright keeping conditions up. It’s about the passion of it this time of year anyway. I Always have fun at this course.

Challenge
I’ve been playing only a few years but, when I get out here, it brings out the best in me! It’s a course that challenges my game. I only wish I lived closer to the course!
Clubrental and staff
We got. zwo Sets of Clubs. Both old and Not cleaned. We payed rd. 64 $ and the stuff seems Not competent. They gave me left handed Clubs but i ask for Right handed
I am very sorry for the confusion on the clubs. Yes I had them set aside for you, the right handed clubs. Remember, theses are rentals and they are used a lot. Unfortunately the people using them treat them badly. I am sorry you did not enjoy your visit.
