About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

Average course and slow play!
Average course for a fair price but the marshal needs to increase pace of play. We stopped after 14 holes since two groups in front of us would've added an extra hour to our round time.
Course is in good shape
Played twice since the greens were Aerated first week of August and the course has recovered nicely. The fairways might be in the best shape I’ve seen them in and the pace of play was just right.

Good Farmland Course
For being located in rural farm area the course is a good track. It was very challenging and had a very interesting layout. A number of holes over water. A lot of trees as well which, makes it very challenging to navigate. If you don't land in the fairway on those holes it is going to be very challenging to get out. Overall, my wife and I had a very good time. I will definitely be back at some point.

Good course
Good course overall! Need to have a Marshall riding around though because they had 6 guys playing in a gaggle slowing everything down way too much!
I am so sorry this happened. We do not allow 6'somes. They must have paired up. We have marshals on the course 7am to 4pm. I am sorry if the marshal was not attentive to your needs. Please call the pro shop next time and we will provide immediate action!

Nice Course
Great staff. Friendly. Course is good but a little tricky at least first time you play it. All around good time and great greens.

Nice golf course
If you are looking for a good challenge, this is the course! My buddy and I like to experience different courses around the SA area and we like this course. The course in general was well kept and maintained. If you are up for a challenge and like to have fun, this is the course.
Greens are killing this course!
I’ve been playing this track a few times a year for almost ten years and it’s always been a favorite. Greens were punched 2 weeks ago. Sad to say but first 2 greens are terrible, #2 basically unplayable. They should put up a temporary green, play it as a par 3 and completely fix that green. Rest of the course played as usual. Not the best, not the worst in the SA area. It will be a while before I make the trip again. Food was good and beer was cold. All in all, average course right now.

Thank you for the review yes we did the necessary evil for all golf courses. Yes #2 has been a problem for years. Too much sodium content in the soil. We do have plans to rebuild in the spring. This heat is also a factor, surely can’t rebuild right now. We look forward to your next visit.

Beautiful course, great upgrades they've made, hit some of the best shots of my life playing here, will be back soon!
Fun Course
I always enjoy playing at Alsatian. The greens were just airyated so as you would expect they did not play very well. Pace of play was really good. The course looked really good. Staff is always very helpful. Don't forget to grab a free Ice cold water to take with you on the course.
Hidden fun outside San Antonio
Always fun to come play The Alsatian. 45 minute drive from my side of town but we'll worth it. They've put a lot of work into the course over the past few months. I knew going in the greens were aerated 6 days earlier so didn't really focus on putts today. Fairways in great shape. Several challenging holes that make it interesting. The staff from check in to dropping cart off, everyone was very friendly. Good size driving range and chipping green. Putting green average size. The only area that I would ask the to make is clear up all the ugly liners in the ponds that are all tore up and an eyesore. Does it affect play? No. But it would make it look so much better. Go play this course and enjoy. When I can I can surely will

Thank you for the review. I am sorry you felt the pace of play was not good. We did have over 180 rounds on Sunday the 13th. We have Marshals all day and the pace of play was 4 hours yesterday This is an acceptable pace. .
