About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

A Great Day to Play!
The course was in good shape, however, the bunkers were in need of a little TLC ; i.e., pull weeds and a good rake-. The undermanned-staff was friendly and responsive. A great course to work on your longer, par -3 iron game. Will definitely be back.
Great day for golf
Course is in excellent condition. Everyone had their own cart and I appreciate that! I did think the course marshal was stalking us..... he must have watched at least on 9 holes. Why?
We Play Here 2-3 Times a month. Great Place . We Have Invited Friends from Uvalde Tx. San Antonio, and Laredo Texas, They all like The Course.
Superior course for the money
This is my decorum time playing the course, 1st time we played 10 holes because that’s the way it’s designed and the 2nd time 18 holes. It is a beautiful course with nice fairways and great greens. Just watch out for hole number two because it’s interesting layout. It’s a homely course for the locals in Castroville, Texas.
Great Experience
Overall great experience. Course was in great shape, grounds were well managed. Amenities were very good.
Can’t wait to go back.
I enjoyed every view from every tee box the layout of the course seem simple but don’t get caught in the trap this course has its demands to place the ball which I like and the fluctuating elevations are outstanding this golf course never fails to please me every time since I played my first district tournament in high school the good old days!

Good round, good greens
Good round with a friend. Greens are in good shape as are all hazards.
So/So
Very well kept course.. Pace of play was my only problem.
But its not like thats the proshops fault. Just be aware that players at this course dont think about others. So play at your own pace regardless of 3 carts waiting at the tee box.
Sunday Fu day at Alsatian Golf Course
I had t played here since it first opened over 20 yrs ago. The layout was challenging but not impossible. The fairways were in very good shape as were most of the greens. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. I will definitely be coming back!

This course has great features
One of the characteristics of the golf course here is that the tee shots can be hit in a lively manner with a relatively straight layout.
The speed of the green is also moderate. It is a course that even beginners can enjoy.

Enjoyable round of golf
Neat course. You play 1-10, then the turn to 11-18. Fairly wide open and forgiving. Very nice staff.
on the day we played it was very foggy but no issues.
Always a nice course
This place is always in good shape and the staff is friendly. If you enjoy a beer with your round this course also has some of the best prices compared to others we have played.

At least it was cheap
The best thing about this round was it was only $18 on GolfNow. The front 9 was absolutely the worst design of any course I’ve ever played. There was a yardage book that was useless. On holes 2 through 5 there is nothing to identify where the hole is going. I suppose after playing it a few times you could figure it out.
The back 9 was much better. Fairways and greens were acceptable for early March. My recommendation is to play Golf Club of Texas a few miles away.

Played here several months ago. The course was in better condition. The greens need work. Too much water and mud around greens. Disappointing.
