About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

Great time, Great course
This course had challenges for each of the levels of play for our group. Challenging but not intimidating. The greens were incredible and smooth. The fairways had just been mowed and the entire course was well maintained. Water features made it interesting but again without any issue. All needed areas were marked and easy to see. The two friends that were on the course for the first time were talking about returning before the round was over. We had a great time.

Returning to golf
Course is nice and quick to complete. By myself, not having to look for balls, and stopping to pick up lunch from the clubhouse, I finished in 3 hours. There were several twosomes in front of me. They all played at a decent pace. There was no one behind me so that I could play at a pace that didn't rush the group in front of me.
Bunkers need attention. Greens were great.
It appeared it had been some time since the bunkers were attended to. Most had old footprints and divots. On the other hand, the greens were in excellent condition; that's much appreciated.
Always Fun
We've played at Alsatian for years & LOVE IT! The course is challenging, yet not overwhelming. The staff is AMAZING, & the food/bar is GREAT, as well!!! This course is one of our "Go To" favorites!
Best Greens Over All
Beautiful fairways but challenging which brings out the best in you. you will probably use all your clubs to figure out this course. Staff is very friendly and Knowledgeable.
The club house is beautiful outside and inside and have tables outside to overlook the final holes while you enjoy a cold drink. Julianna's is the dinning area which cook awesome meals and watch the latest golf shows or other sports on large TV screens.

The course was in excellent shape and the greens rolled really true a little quick
Great Course
This is a great course for the money. They keep the greens in terrific shape (except hole 2). The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. You need to be careful of the Marshall at the 1st tee, he’s chatty. When it comes to pace of play this course will always get the nod of the city courses especially on the weekend. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to have a nice relaxing round.
Excellent course
Usually we play this course at a comfortable rate. Got stuck behind four groups of women. They were struggling. But, we enjoyed the day.

I really enjoy playing this golf course, the personnel is very friendly, the golf course is in great shape and the food and patio are great.

Course is in great shape
Wow, the course is playing well with fairways and greens well manicured Pace of play was great , Greens are rolling probly about 9 1/2 -10 on the stimp meter ; Which is plenty fast for the low to mid handicapper @nd probably lightning fast for high handicappers, Course layout is nice with several holes not needing your driver, Course is not long from the tips but the South Breeze Makes it a little more challenging, Overall a very nice experience I highly recommend that if your in the San Antonio area Give this course a try a promise you you will not be disappointed I have played Tapitio Springs in Bourne and this course is as well maintained as it and better than Brackenridge golf course. Give it a try I'm sure you will enjoy it
