About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

Excellant course
Course is fun. Greens are good.. Staff is friendly
Friendliest course around
The staff really take care of you. Kyle is a fantastic instructor and pro golfer. The restaurant staff are great too. The course is challenging...for me! Worth the drive from San Antonio!!!
Best I have seen!
Good consistent greens, fairways much improved. This course is in the best condition I can remember it ever being in.
Windy and mist through out the course
Was a great day just a bit Windy and a slight mist at times. Course was in good condition.

Had a great time at Alsatian, they never overbook and the course was in great shape. It took under 4 hours to play 18.
Love this course
This is a great course worth the short drive from San Antonio. Great layout and challenge for every skill level. Island greens, and lots of elevation change combine for a scenic challenge. Friendly and helpful staff. No drinking water on the course, however they provide free bottled water. At least three holes with a drive that must carry from 200 up to 250 yards or a lay up that leaves a long second that must be precise or your in trouble. Such a fun challenge.

very friendly staff. course always in good shape. greens are good. course is fun to play. I would like to see management have someone to clean your clubs at the end of the round., and take your clubs to your car if you like. It would reinforce your friendly staff, and would not cost anything xtra, since you already have someone working in the cart barn
Slow! Slow! Slow!
I understand mid-week, low traffic course business decisions. But, I played in a two some and we caught up with a course approved 6 some and 5 some. This was their “ money game”. It took a pleasant afternoon round and turned it into a miserable experience. This “money game” included members of the course staff. Some golf etiquette would’ve fixed this quickly. Instead, we had a mid week afternoon round of golf that took in excess of 5 hrs to complete. It’ll be a while before I ever consider playing here again.

Love the course, but........
Got to do something about the extremely slow players and or terrible players that end up being slow and refuse to let people play through. Also having scrambles and tournaments and also having t-times during these has become the norm. I understand not wanting to upset the gentlemen that are causing this problem but as someone that plays multiple time here a month and sometimes weeks I’m about to call it quits playing here. See picture for today’s unfinished round.
