Stonebridge at Newport

Nice course. Worth the price. No waiting while playing. Greens were in great shape, carts were clean, staff was helpful & friendly. The only bummer is the restaurant was closed & I heard the burgers were great! Next time I will have to try it.

The greens are in the best shape I have seen them and rolling pure. The fairways are perfect also (just a little firm). I’ve always like the layout and I’m very happy to see that they have gotten the course back to this condition. Pace of play was great also (3 hours) for my round. Bunkers are all very playable..carts have an ice chest on them so bring a few drinks since there is no beverage cart (played a weekday), not sure if there is one on the weekends… only downfall is the houses lining the course, but hit them straight and you’re good.

Greens very bumpy. Course in good shape but greens did not roll true.

To start this review, I completely understand course rules and regulations. However, the staff and course Marshall’s couldn’t have been more rude in regards to upholding them. Secondly, the course conditions in most of the tee boxes and greens are horrible. Mower tire ruts, extremely low spots where puddling and mud standing even on weeks without rain. If you’re going to uphold standards, rules, and charge the amount this course does, how about making sure people actually want to play and come back to play at your course. I certainly will not.

Played here Sunday morning with my son in-law and one of his friends. Greens rolled well fairways was good tee boxes a little hard carts great shape. It was only a little slow because couple in front of us was playing out of one bag and not real good but pace was faster then most other places. I’m ready to play again soon
