Good course
Fairways and greens were clean. Worth the price for 18 and cart. The pace of play was a little slow but it wasn’t awful. They had water, cart lady and Marshall. I would play here again.
Making improvements
Stone bridge has good bones and I can see the steps management is taking to create a higher quality experience.
Terrible staff
Have played here a few times and never busy. Mostly put out as a single. Played front nine as a three some. At the turn we asked a single if he wanted to play through or team up. The starter came up to the two of us and stated we needed to go pay for a full cart since we went out with only one in a cart. I went back to clubhouse and stated if he stayed as a single why would it matter. Asked for a refund for back nine and guy said no. Just pathetic all they care about is a few extra dollars. Maybe try getting your starter at the first tee early. So you dont have that problem.
Quality of Play
There were zero course Marshalls during our play on a Saturday; I have never witnessed the presence of a Marshall. Given my statement, the pace of play was poor; there was also a fivsome allowed ahead of our pair.
Overall there was no regulation throughout the course.
Going down
Some of the greens are rough looking & bumpy. The new home construction on top of several front 9 holes is NOT a welcome sight & will negatively affect the enjoyment of these holes. Saw a Marshall drive by one time, but he didn’t help move the slow players ahead of me. It was nice to see cold water on the course. Grass is too high beside the fairways. (Wouldn’t notice that if I hit it straight)
This course is horrible
This course is in really bad shape. This course is hard like a rock and you couldn’t get a tee in the ground to save your life. You couldn’t even put a divot in this course if you dropped a bowling ball from 20 feet in the air. It is an all around bad course. This is more like a 2 star course not a 4 star. The greens need a lot of work please see photos.
I’ve paid a lot more for worse!
Drove out to Crosby to play this course. Enjoyable morning t time. Greens were decent. CB purse was challenging. I’m looking forward to trying to figure it out next time. Not bad and definitely worth the drive.
Stone Bridge at Newport’s
Gateways and Greens have improved.
Ruff along Fairways had not been mowed this morning, ball could easily be lost due to grass height. Sand in traps are a bit dense to to composition of clay mixed in sand. Overall appearance of holes 3 and 4 have changed dramatically as trees are being cleared for development.
Overall still good value, was able to play 18 holes in less three hours.
