Stonebridge at Newport

We were finishing up our round and there was a wedding party taking pics on the bridge to the 18th hole. We, of course, didn't want to disturb the wedding party, so we skipped finishing the hole. Management should have coordinated this better. There are too many places on the course that are muddy/wet/soft. Greens keepers need to irrigate better.

Good course, fair price, some construction going on, hope it makes the course better when its finished.

Front 9 … not too bad .

However the back 9 is just too muddy.

On the overall , I love the quietness.

Very nice layout, fairways and greens were in very good shape. A lot of dog legs, need to position your tee shots accurately to avoid approach shots being blocked out by trees… next time I’m there I’ll be more informed. Only negative was being stuck behind a group of “members” who were In a money game ( as confirmed by the marshal). 4hrs 30mins. Not a terrible pace but it got tiresome waiting on every shot.

Overall the course was in good condition the greens could have some improvement but we just came came off a strong storm the other day so it was to be expected. Overall it was a great experience for the money.

If you’re looking for a place to play with a spouse, or someone who is learning this is the perfect place. Not rushed nor hurried, country charm but a test nonetheless. I. Think it’s well worth the drive.

Fairways and greens were clean. Worth the price for 18 and cart. The pace of play was a little slow but it wasn’t awful. They had water, cart lady and Marshall. I would play here again.

Stone bridge has good bones and I can see the steps management is taking to create a higher quality experience.

Have played here a few times and never busy. Mostly put out as a single. Played front nine as a three some. At the turn we asked a single if he wanted to play through or team up. The starter came up to the two of us and stated we needed to go pay for a full cart since we went out with only one in a cart. I went back to clubhouse and stated if he stayed as a single why would it matter. Asked for a refund for back nine and guy said no. Just pathetic all they care about is a few extra dollars. Maybe try getting your starter at the first tee early. So you dont have that problem.

There were zero course Marshalls during our play on a Saturday; I have never witnessed the presence of a Marshall. Given my statement, the pace of play was poor; there was also a fivsome allowed ahead of our pair.

Overall there was no regulation throughout the course.

Some of the greens are rough looking & bumpy. The new home construction on top of several front 9 holes is NOT a welcome sight & will negatively affect the enjoyment of these holes. Saw a Marshall drive by one time, but he didn’t help move the slow players ahead of me. It was nice to see cold water on the course. Grass is too high beside the fairways. (Wouldn’t notice that if I hit it straight)
