Turnberry Golf Club
About
Turnberry Golf Club may not have the length of its sister course located only 20 minutes away, Eagles Nest, but it has the same challenging character and unique layout. Molded from abandoned quarries, massive outcroppings of earth were recreated to look like the seaside dunes of Eagles Nest. This 3,400-yard, executive layout has sparse vegetation, generous green complexes, and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course begins and ends with a long par 4 with an interesting variety of par 3s in between. Each hole was designed completely unique from one another to emphasize variety and playability. At Turnberry Golf Club, golfers will be forced to use every club in their bag.

1 st hole par 4 Photo submitted by kyu462 on 06/09/2019
Best golf course I have played at.
I started playing golf this summer. The game itself requires patience and a lot of balls. :) My husband has brought me to Turnberry 4 times now and every time the people are phenomenal, the course is great for those of us who are learning the game, the greens are well kept and the Marshalls are friendly. :) Highly recommend this course.
Nice course
Beautiful course, well maintained long par 3s challenging greens, awesome driving range and good bang for your buck.
Great course
Had an early start and enjoyed the course so much. Well manicured, challenging and awesome terrain. Will definitely be back here again.
Turnberry is a beautiful course! The best part 3 course in the GTA by a long shot. It's a little busy and a bit expensive, but that's more a sign of the times.
I've already reached out and recommended it to a few friends. I hope to be back soon!
Great, except forward tees need to be more friendly.
We really loved Turnberry, but it's unfair for seniors and women who can't carry some of the tee shots, particularly on #2 (110 yard carry), and #16 (122 yard carry). Other than that, it's lovely, challenging, majestic, well-manicured and picturesque. You will use every club in your bag.
Great Course with a Variety of Challenges
We found this course to be enjoyable. Mostly par-3, with two par-4's, with a variety of challenges; over water, protected by sand traps (deep), and lots of tall fescues to lose your ball. Overall it was reasonably challenging with some relief with a few somewhat straightforward par-3's. Staff members were friendly and helpful. Found the driving range to be wanting, with poor surfaces for practicing off the turf and tiny buckets that were supposed to be large. Overall, however, a great experience, and we will go back. We had a nice lunch and the restaurant as well; the food was excellent as well as the service.
Great Course, Won't go back on a Weekend
We love the challenge of playing 16 par 3s (& two 4s) on a course with lots of elevation change & great greens. But Turnberry does attract a lot of beginner golfers and the pace is definitely a problem. We were behind a 4some of young guys in 2 carts. Ok, yes, maybe the first time playing for at least one of them and 3-4 swings before even making contact, but there's no excuse for their complete lack of course etiquette. We were astonished to see them driving their carts right up the greens, often on the far side away from the path and even once across the green!
No marshall ever came around (we teed off at 4:18) so they just continued this the entire round. The 2 young guys we were paired wtih were very nice and trying to learn but they shared one set of clubs, which I'm surprised was permitted .
We have learned a lot of patience this season with so many new players out, which is good for the industry & the game. But with the very full tee sheets, courses should be trying harder to keep things on pace & within the rules.
