Turnberry Golf Club
About
Turnberry Golf Club may not have the length of its sister course located only 20 minutes away, Eagles Nest, but it has the same challenging character and unique layout. Molded from abandoned quarries, massive outcroppings of earth were recreated to look like the seaside dunes of Eagles Nest. This 3,400-yard, executive layout has sparse vegetation, generous green complexes, and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course begins and ends with a long par 4 with an interesting variety of par 3s in between. Each hole was designed completely unique from one another to emphasize variety and playability. At Turnberry Golf Club, golfers will be forced to use every club in their bag.

1 st hole par 4 Photo submitted by kyu462 on 06/09/2019
Great, except forward tees need to be more friendly.
We really loved Turnberry, but it's unfair for seniors and women who can't carry some of the tee shots, particularly on #2 (110 yard carry), and #16 (122 yard carry). Other than that, it's lovely, challenging, majestic, well-manicured and picturesque. You will use every club in your bag.
Great Course with a Variety of Challenges
We found this course to be enjoyable. Mostly par-3, with two par-4's, with a variety of challenges; over water, protected by sand traps (deep), and lots of tall fescues to lose your ball. Overall it was reasonably challenging with some relief with a few somewhat straightforward par-3's. Staff members were friendly and helpful. Found the driving range to be wanting, with poor surfaces for practicing off the turf and tiny buckets that were supposed to be large. Overall, however, a great experience, and we will go back. We had a nice lunch and the restaurant as well; the food was excellent as well as the service.
Great Course, Won't go back on a Weekend
We love the challenge of playing 16 par 3s (& two 4s) on a course with lots of elevation change & great greens. But Turnberry does attract a lot of beginner golfers and the pace is definitely a problem. We were behind a 4some of young guys in 2 carts. Ok, yes, maybe the first time playing for at least one of them and 3-4 swings before even making contact, but there's no excuse for their complete lack of course etiquette. We were astonished to see them driving their carts right up the greens, often on the far side away from the path and even once across the green!
No marshall ever came around (we teed off at 4:18) so they just continued this the entire round. The 2 young guys we were paired wtih were very nice and trying to learn but they shared one set of clubs, which I'm surprised was permitted .
We have learned a lot of patience this season with so many new players out, which is good for the industry & the game. But with the very full tee sheets, courses should be trying harder to keep things on pace & within the rules.
Nice short coursr
second time in a couple years and it was enjoyable. Course is well maintained and practice facilities are wonderful...
A couple more par 4s and this would be one of my favourites..
A bit pricey but this seems the new Premium during COVID-19.
Played here many times. Absolute must play
I played here the first week this course opened. I have held a tournament here and I keep coming back to play. This is without a doubt the absolute best par 3 course in Ontario. Day one was playing on a perfect course divot free, many years later and I am still happy with the upkeep. It is not an easy course as there are numerous hazards to get to the green over water or marsh you need to be able to lift the ball for a great game. It is challenging enough with 100Yds and 200 yds par 3. Hole one at 443yds par 4 could be a par 5 which would make me leave my driver at home. Great exercise walking this somewhat hilly course. I would recommend playing here anytime. Plus it has a great driving range and large practice putting green. What a great way to finish on the patio with really great food which have never disappointed me.
Great condition & value for money
Played Turnberry for the first time with a buddy on Saturday afternoon. 2 of us were paired with another 2 ball. For a course that has 16 par 3s, it exceeded my expectations! Course condition was fantastic, greens were quick and true. Pin positioning was a real challenge. Will definitely be back!
Great course! Very well kept.
Course is awesome. One of the nicest kept courses I’ve played at in the GTA. Pace was great. Will be back.
Great course
We were very happy with the course itself, but the facilities were out of order on the course. You do not get close to the clubhouse. Everything else was perfect as we had a nice drink on the patio after our round.
ALRIGHT
Slow pace - overbooked. Long round for a short course. $40 for a cart for two for a short course. Groupings mixed with cart and walkers causing slow pace. Lots of new golfers looking for balls. All in all not worth $130 for two golfers. Use to play this course for $30 with cart. Rip off
Short but enough to practice all my clubs
Two par 4s and the rest are par 3s. The.course design is suberply unique and beautiful. I truly had fun with the two other friendly golfers matched with me. Staff are gentle and friendly. I look forward to playing here again. Thanks
