St. James Bay Golf Club
About
Located in Carrabelle just minutes from the pristine white beaches of St. George Island and Cape San Blas, St. James Bay Resort boasts the only Audubon Signature Sanctuary golf course in the area. It's not an understatement to say that water is the course's most formidable feature. There are 15 lakes throughout the landscape that present a hazard on every hole. Towering pines and colorful flowers accent the scenic parkland as well. In addition to the natural hazards that have been seamlessly incorporated, bunkers were carefully added to strategic locations to make the course more challenging, but they still allow the landscape to truly shine. In addition to the golf course, St. James Bay offers a full practice facility with a driving range, a chipping green with a bunker, and two putting greens.

Bring your A game
What a wonderful challenging course. There is water and/or marsh on every hole. Plenty of bunkers as well. Greens were great. The course is not a monster as far a length is concerned but has enough to make it a challenge for anyone.
Excellant
. We got up early and drove from Orlando and it was well worth the drive. The course was uncrowded, in great shape and the greens were fast and true. Each hole was unique and had a challenge which made the course fun to play. This was by far the best course we played on our 10 day golf trip thru Flordia.
Paradise in the middle of no where.
What a beautiful course in the middle of no where. It was in such pristine condition. Wasn't too lady friendly with the carries and layups of the marsh areas. A 111 slope is way too low for the average woman. The pros could carry the marsh areas and maybe in warmer weather the average player could get over more of them. Wouldn't stop me from playing it again. Had beautiful views and the par 3's were fun. If I could think of a reason to return to this area, would definitely play again.
Fantastic course in seclusion !!
While staying at St. George Island this course is a must for any one with the golf itch ! The course was in great shape even during a little dry spell ! I have also played after a long wet period and was even better with all the protected areas holding water ! You just can't beat St James Bay when your within a hr. or so drive .
Fantastic course!!! Course was in great shape!
Course was in great shape. Very nice course design with just enough water to make it interesting and enough easy holes to make the golfer want to come back again & again!
Beautiful Golf Course
Beautiful day in paradise and the course was in great shape. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a very challenging course with water and marshes. Bringing plenty of golf balls.
Be Prepared, Bring Extra Balls
I was visiting Apalachicola, and had a chance to get 18 in. Few courses in the area to pick from. It was 38 miles to St James Bay and well worth it. The staff told me to know my distances, "think links style, but worse," and look out for bears.
Distances were critical. Too long or short and it was irrecoveravle hazards. Rolling fairways and greens are always tough. I learned to avoid short cuts and play the design, very quickly. The course was very well maintained and in great shape. The greens rolled true and quite fast.
In the end, I saw no bears. I also saw no other golfers, until I finished. However, I did see too many penalty strokes. It was golf at my pace and very relaxing, while enjoying true panhandle beauty. I recommend going out of your way to play it.
This is a great course!
Played twice. Will play again in the spring. I highly recommend this course in every way, gorgeous, very friendly staff, good restaurant. Wish I had found it years ago. Been coming to the area for 13 years, Wild Wood was closed so came here. Will not be any where else but St. James in the future.
Excellent condition
Very well maintained and a super challenge for accuracy, many balls needed.
Enjoyed the round immensely.
The is a very challenging course that requires accuracy.
This is an excellent course. If you able to get a hot deal on GolfNow, it will be worth the price. It is a must to keep it in the short grass on this course
Play this course
Play this course, Played from the blue tee, which fits my game, 240yd drives, you can use red is less and black if longer, but keep it in the fairway. Great layout, you will use most of the clubs in you bag, but tight layout. Tees and fairway were great, greens were just punched and sanded so putting was slow., but should be perfect in a couple of weeks
Great course, wonderful people
Bring extra balls! If it is out of bounds it gone forever.
great course
Course is in fantastic shape, you better be able to control your ball stricking ability's.
Very Nice Course in Great Condition - Play it if You Get a Chance
If you take golf seriously, you should enjoy playing St. James Bay GC. It's a gem of a course in a somewhat out-of-the-way location east of Carrabelle, FL. It is short, as modern courses go, but has plenty of teeth. Our (all Senior) group played the white tees, which played less than 6000 yards. That was plenty of course, as it turns out. It features lots of forced carries from tees, and there are numerous sand traps, and a few "hidden" hazards along the way. If you don't hit your ball pretty close to where you're aiming, there is a fair chance it will be lost.
Most reviewers have said they found the course in good shape. We did too! The greens and fairways are lush. Lots of recent rain has left most bunkers wet and hard, but they were generally playable. The greens were smooth, and reasonably paced. Everyone in our group enjoyed playing there.
The staff there were very friendly and accomodating. I booked two tee times, because we had five people in our group. Because the course was not busy when we played, they invited us to play as a fivesome, provided we agreed to let approaching golfers through. Turns out we had no one approach us, and we played in only about 15 minutes over the GPS monitered target time.
Hit It Straight!
Need to know your skills and stay in fairway. Long hitters beware!
Course is in good shape/nice greens and drains well
Keep ball in play /leave your driver in the bag. If you can avoid the numerous waste areas , it will leave to a good score.
Stunningly beautiful, awesome layout and conditions.
One of the finest golf courses I have played. Bring lots of balls and good luck keeping your nerves in check. You will have trouble in front, both left and right plus hidden trouble that only having played can help you with.
Greens were super smooth and true. Fun course to play
Excellent...great greens,...fun and challenging....
Great time for great price!!
The course was in very good condition. We played a foursome, and didn't see anyone until we got to hole 10. Greens rolled great. We played on the hot time and it was more than worth it.
Course in great shape!
The course is in great shape! It is challenging because of "hidden" waste areas and water. If you pay attention to the GPS system and play "smart", you can score much better. But, if you're a hacker like me, you might want to bring a few extra balls!
