St. James Bay Golf Club
About
Located in Carrabelle just minutes from the pristine white beaches of St. George Island and Cape San Blas, St. James Bay Resort boasts the only Audubon Signature Sanctuary golf course in the area. It's not an understatement to say that water is the course's most formidable feature. There are 15 lakes throughout the landscape that present a hazard on every hole. Towering pines and colorful flowers accent the scenic parkland as well. In addition to the natural hazards that have been seamlessly incorporated, bunkers were carefully added to strategic locations to make the course more challenging, but they still allow the landscape to truly shine. In addition to the golf course, St. James Bay offers a full practice facility with a driving range, a chipping green with a bunker, and two putting greens.

Great course
Course in excellent condition. Use of on cart gps is critical to have any chance of avoiding trouble. Strategy is required to score well, macho shots likely to result in lost balls.
Restaurant had excellent grouper.
Well worth effort required to get there.
4th of July Gem
This was the third time my son and I played St. James Bay and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Watch out for the Alligator in the lake on number 9! Definitely need to take the GPS advice on your cart to keep your ball in play.
Front nine has some tricky shots to keep in the fairway and the greens were fast - even though it was early (8:30am). Number 8 is a birdie hole if you come up from the right and stay dry.
Course was again very well maintained and we did not feel rushed or overcrowded. A real gem of a course tucked into the coast ... we always visit when vacationing. Worth the drive and the Grill has a great breaskfast.
Hidden Gem
I first played this course in February 2009 and fell in love with it. It is by far my favorite course in the tallahassee area. It is always in great condition and never busy but can be a little pricey. I suggest you look for a deal as it is well worth it.
The course itself is carved out of wetland and places a premium on accuracy off the tee. It's tight off the tee and seems as if every hole has a carry over marsh. If you can get over the fact that you will probably lose quite a bit of golf balls, you'll have a blast.
Great condition. Shot makers course. Would recomened to anyone.
Have played it several times. Always in great shape. The facility and grill excellent.
Best course in this area
Truly enjoyed the day. My husband loved the course and said it was the most fun he has had playing bad golf. The course is in great shape.
Very precise shots required. Beautiful course.
Very precise shots are required. Greens moderately fast. Beautiful course. I will play it again.
Beautiful Golf Course....
A very good test of your golf game. One of the most beautiful courses I have played. Staff was wonderful. Pricey, so look for deals....maybe they will reduce prices in the future and offer half price senior rates.....
Absolute Hidden Gem
One of the best and most challenging courses I have ever played. Excellent facilities, great staff, and a beautiful course layout. Everything was in great condition except for the greens but that was only because it appeared that they had been recently aerated and overseeded. However they still rolled true. Will definitely be returning to play this course again.
A great place to golf!
Always enjoy rounds at St. James Bay when visiting locally. Beautiful course, always well-maintained and professionally run. Bring lots of balls -- it is fairly tight with lots of water! GPS on cart is very helpful. A hidden gem!
Great course
We played after they aerate and top dress the green.
It was impossible to have your ball hold it's line. But the course is great and worth the trip when the green are in top shape.
Nice course
Very nice challenging course. The only reason the rating is 4 stars instead of 5 stars for conditions is that they had just aerated the greens. You do need to be able to get off the tee as many holes require a carry.
Very nice course
This was my first time playing St. James and I was impressed. I thought it was a great, challenging layout. The only down side to my visit was that the greens had recently been aerated so putting and saving strokes was pretty difficult. Not a long course but you definitely need to be able to place shots to set up your next one. I would never pay the full price of the green fee for this course, but as long as Golf Now keeps having these discounted prices, I will definitely play this course again.
Bring your A game
What a wonderful challenging course. There is water and/or marsh on every hole. Plenty of bunkers as well. Greens were great. The course is not a monster as far a length is concerned but has enough to make it a challenge for anyone.
Excellant
. We got up early and drove from Orlando and it was well worth the drive. The course was uncrowded, in great shape and the greens were fast and true. Each hole was unique and had a challenge which made the course fun to play. This was by far the best course we played on our 10 day golf trip thru Flordia.
Paradise in the middle of no where.
What a beautiful course in the middle of no where. It was in such pristine condition. Wasn't too lady friendly with the carries and layups of the marsh areas. A 111 slope is way too low for the average woman. The pros could carry the marsh areas and maybe in warmer weather the average player could get over more of them. Wouldn't stop me from playing it again. Had beautiful views and the par 3's were fun. If I could think of a reason to return to this area, would definitely play again.
Fantastic course in seclusion !!
While staying at St. George Island this course is a must for any one with the golf itch ! The course was in great shape even during a little dry spell ! I have also played after a long wet period and was even better with all the protected areas holding water ! You just can't beat St James Bay when your within a hr. or so drive .
Fantastic course!!! Course was in great shape!
Course was in great shape. Very nice course design with just enough water to make it interesting and enough easy holes to make the golfer want to come back again & again!
Beautiful Golf Course
Beautiful day in paradise and the course was in great shape. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a very challenging course with water and marshes. Bringing plenty of golf balls.
Be Prepared, Bring Extra Balls
I was visiting Apalachicola, and had a chance to get 18 in. Few courses in the area to pick from. It was 38 miles to St James Bay and well worth it. The staff told me to know my distances, "think links style, but worse," and look out for bears.
Distances were critical. Too long or short and it was irrecoveravle hazards. Rolling fairways and greens are always tough. I learned to avoid short cuts and play the design, very quickly. The course was very well maintained and in great shape. The greens rolled true and quite fast.
In the end, I saw no bears. I also saw no other golfers, until I finished. However, I did see too many penalty strokes. It was golf at my pace and very relaxing, while enjoying true panhandle beauty. I recommend going out of your way to play it.
This is a great course!
Played twice. Will play again in the spring. I highly recommend this course in every way, gorgeous, very friendly staff, good restaurant. Wish I had found it years ago. Been coming to the area for 13 years, Wild Wood was closed so came here. Will not be any where else but St. James in the future.
