St. James Bay Golf Club
About
Located in Carrabelle just minutes from the pristine white beaches of St. George Island and Cape San Blas, St. James Bay Resort boasts the only Audubon Signature Sanctuary golf course in the area. It's not an understatement to say that water is the course's most formidable feature. There are 15 lakes throughout the landscape that present a hazard on every hole. Towering pines and colorful flowers accent the scenic parkland as well. In addition to the natural hazards that have been seamlessly incorporated, bunkers were carefully added to strategic locations to make the course more challenging, but they still allow the landscape to truly shine. In addition to the golf course, St. James Bay offers a full practice facility with a driving range, a chipping green with a bunker, and two putting greens.

Great course, wonderful people
Bring extra balls! If it is out of bounds it gone forever.
great course
Course is in fantastic shape, you better be able to control your ball stricking ability's.
Very Nice Course in Great Condition - Play it if You Get a Chance
If you take golf seriously, you should enjoy playing St. James Bay GC. It's a gem of a course in a somewhat out-of-the-way location east of Carrabelle, FL. It is short, as modern courses go, but has plenty of teeth. Our (all Senior) group played the white tees, which played less than 6000 yards. That was plenty of course, as it turns out. It features lots of forced carries from tees, and there are numerous sand traps, and a few "hidden" hazards along the way. If you don't hit your ball pretty close to where you're aiming, there is a fair chance it will be lost.
Most reviewers have said they found the course in good shape. We did too! The greens and fairways are lush. Lots of recent rain has left most bunkers wet and hard, but they were generally playable. The greens were smooth, and reasonably paced. Everyone in our group enjoyed playing there.
The staff there were very friendly and accomodating. I booked two tee times, because we had five people in our group. Because the course was not busy when we played, they invited us to play as a fivesome, provided we agreed to let approaching golfers through. Turns out we had no one approach us, and we played in only about 15 minutes over the GPS monitered target time.
Hit It Straight!
Need to know your skills and stay in fairway. Long hitters beware!
Course is in good shape/nice greens and drains well
Keep ball in play /leave your driver in the bag. If you can avoid the numerous waste areas , it will leave to a good score.
Stunningly beautiful, awesome layout and conditions.
One of the finest golf courses I have played. Bring lots of balls and good luck keeping your nerves in check. You will have trouble in front, both left and right plus hidden trouble that only having played can help you with.
Greens were super smooth and true. Fun course to play
Excellent...great greens,...fun and challenging....
Great time for great price!!
The course was in very good condition. We played a foursome, and didn't see anyone until we got to hole 10. Greens rolled great. We played on the hot time and it was more than worth it.
Course in great shape!
The course is in great shape! It is challenging because of "hidden" waste areas and water. If you pay attention to the GPS system and play "smart", you can score much better. But, if you're a hacker like me, you might want to bring a few extra balls!
Always in great shape!
I've only played this course about a dozen times over the last 7 years, but it is always in phenomenal shape. I call it resort quality. It is definitely "target golf." You really have to pay attention to the GPS in the cart. It is significantly easier from the blue tees than the black. From the blues you can do well with a 200-220 yd. club vs. the driver. Over all it is a great golfing experience.
Outstanding course
Outstanding course with great surroundings. A little pricey, especially considering the location but the course makes it worth the money. Beware there is very little to do in Carrabelle .
Try this one
Very nice course, challenging but fair. Bring your A game and you can score well. On the other hand,if you are spraying the ball, bring a dozen. They had just aerated and sanded the greens, yet they still putted well. Some forced carries,Great sand, attractive setting, I really liked this course.
Wetlands target style of golf that is very fun to play and where it doesn't hurt to bring a few extra balls you don't mind losing.
The greens were aerated and top dressed with sand several days prior to our play but the course played fine. The carts are equipped with GPS with lots of distances that really help with shot and club selections. The last par 5 on the back nine is quite a test that we all failed. I will definitely be back when the greens have fully recovered and, hopefully, my game is up to the task to get revenge on the par 5.
Wonderful layout and test
A great test of your skill level with well placed water and sand traps. We played when the greens had been topped dressed so it was more difficult than usual. I highly recommend this course. Staff are great and a wonderful restaurant and bar are available when you finish your round.
Great Round of Golf
Course was in excellent condition. Very well maintained. Course is easy for high handicappers and challenging for low handicappers it all depends on tee box.
A hidden gem
This course may be a drive from most of the area, but is always in perfect condition, and is a beautiful and challenging layout. Lots of scenery and nature to see.
Incorporating the wetlands and Audubon society guidelines makes for a beautiful and challenging experience.
For a 15 handicapper as my self I would usually not afford myself the normal $65 green free on such an fine course. Thanks to GolfNow.com I got to play it.
I recommend bring a number of your less favorite balls. Until you get your course management under control on this course you may loose several on your first round and most likely not find them.
Unless you are a long and straight off the tee consider a lay up shot off the tee on a couple of the par fives. I'll let you figure out which ones.
The course tore me up but I enjoyed almost every moment.
excellent course, very challenging
smooth acceptance of Golf Now voucher, and very friendly staff.
Worth the drive to play an exceptional golf course!
Excellent golf course. Not your conventional 2 or 3 shot venue. Requires forethought each hole as you play through and around the marsh. If you are below average player, it will be a long day
GREAT GOLF COURSE
BEAUTIFUL golf course, great wildlife, perfect greens
