St. James Bay Golf Club
About
Located in Carrabelle just minutes from the pristine white beaches of St. George Island and Cape San Blas, St. James Bay Resort boasts the only Audubon Signature Sanctuary golf course in the area. It's not an understatement to say that water is the course's most formidable feature. There are 15 lakes throughout the landscape that present a hazard on every hole. Towering pines and colorful flowers accent the scenic parkland as well. In addition to the natural hazards that have been seamlessly incorporated, bunkers were carefully added to strategic locations to make the course more challenging, but they still allow the landscape to truly shine. In addition to the golf course, St. James Bay offers a full practice facility with a driving range, a chipping green with a bunker, and two putting greens.

Excellent Golf For This Area
This is a rare find for golf in the Panhandle. I have played this course since it opened some 10 plus years ago. It has always been in excellent condition. It is somewhat challenging until you learn how to play it. Several forced carries and numerous bunkers. GPS on carts is very useful. It is a must play if opportunity is available.
2nd time played
Only issue was pace of play. Had 4:groups ahead playing skins. Best course in area. Worth a 45 min. Drive, for sure.
Nice Day
A very nice course in an area with few choices. Greens good. Fairways nice, esp. after dry conditions. Layout good. Several holes with moderate carries. Will play here again!
Non golfers
We were 3 waiting on a 5 some from hole 2 to hole 8 with no golf etiquette. Suddenly on 9 tee they made a wrong move so we took the tee box. They pulled up right behind us we never even looked at them when we were on the green we looked back but on the back 9 we sailed through
Great Course!
I had a great experience at this course. The course was in good condition even in the middle of January. The layout is scenic and offered a nice balance of challenge and playability. I’d definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for an enjoyable round of golf.
Overpriced!!
This is no place for an intermediate senior with a 25 handicap. Every hole has more hazards, swamps to cross, and bunkers than any other course I've played and some of the greens were quite ratty.
Also, I booked a hot deal and arrived at the course with my none-golfing adult daughter who drives for me when she's home from college. They told me I'd be playing with a foursome and when I told them I would need my own cart they made me pay a $30 'spectator fee'.
The people were rude, and I was shocked to see the men's room adorned with posters featuring 'Sports Illustrated' swimsuit edition covers showing issues with the 10 most scantily clad women they ever published. Really! Are they a family-friendly golf resort, or a biker bar?
Christmas Eve Golf
Really fun and challenging. No need to use your driver on every hole. Shot placement is a must if you want to score. Bring extra balls😂
Quality and Difficult
Extremely challenging but nicely maintained course, good facilities and friendly people!
Well maintained course with a great layout
St. James Bay has a beautiful course that feels peaceful from the first hole to the last. The fairways were well kept and the entire layout felt thoughtfully designed. The staff was welcoming and made the experience even better! It is a great choice if you want a quiet day on the course with scenic views and solid conditions.
Tucked Away Gem
If you ever find yourself on Florida’s Forgotten Coast, carve out time for a round at St. James Bay Golf Resort in Carrabelle. This course is a tucked away gem right in the Panhandle that has one of those rare layouts that can compete with the best in the state.
What makes St. James special is every hole feels thoughtfully carved into the natural wetlands with Carrabelle Beach only a rock toss away offering a mix of beauty and bite. The fairways are pure, the greens roll true, and the course demands just enough strategy to keep you honest without taking the fun out of the round.
No matter if you are in the Panhandle, up the Mississippi, or over in Pebble Beach, St. James is worth the visit. It’s the perfect blend of relaxation and competition.
Beautiful Course on Nature's Doorstep
This course is definitely a challenge — you’ve got to hit the ball straight or you’ll be in the marsh or water before you know it. It’s a true shotmaker’s course with some blind shots, so bring a few extra balls. That said, it’s absolutely gorgeous. The setting is serene and relaxing, with nature all around you, which makes it a really enjoyable place to play. Tough, but worth it.
We also saw all kinds of wildlife during our round, including a baby gator sunbathing next to one of the ponds. It just adds to the unique experience out here. And a special shoutout to Lisa in the pro shop — she was awesome and really made us feel welcome.
Great Staff
Enjoyed our round at St. James Bay. New owner and they are working on getting the course in shape. Course is not in bad shape. Greens in good condition. Some Tee Boxes need some TLC. Owner purchased new carts and remodled the bar area. Love the new outside patio! Will definitely play again when in the area. Very reasonable priced with Hot Deal.
Worth the drive from Port St. Joe
Great fun course that is worth driving to from PSJ
Lots of water and swamps.
Tough conditions, very tight and long. Challenging tract. Seniors need to definitely play up.
Ghost Town
This was one of the nicest courses I've ever played. Fairways were nice, greens we're great. Fun and challenging layout.
When we pulled up for a 3:20 hot deal, there were no cars in the parking lot. We played all 18 holes and never saw another golfer the entire time on any hole anywhere. Very odd for a very nice course. We asked a worker where everyone was?.. maybe there was a tournament before us, but no. They said it was a normal day.
Weeds and aeration
Need to get control of the weed I have never seen it this bad and no aeration warning before playing online by GN.
aerification
Weeds are coming in around the greens and on and there was no aerification warning. Green needed more sand!
