McDowell Mountain Golf Club

The course was nice, however several holes were under construction so we had to play around some of that. If you’re a beginner who slices, beware. This course is a ball loser. Rocky, sandy, and brush filled desert surrounds almost every hole. If you’re not accurate with your drives it’s extremely easy to lose your ball.

We were hoping to get some drinks on the course but didn’t see a cart employee through ALL 18 holes. Kinda bummed about that. Was hoping to get water/brews but didn’t get the chance.

All in all I’d give this course a 7 out of 10. Would recommend.

We have been playing the course twice a week for 3-4 years.

First time at this course. I was expecting decent conditions considering the price. Yes, it is summer but putting was like rolling a bouncy ball down down asphalt, fairways were beat and dry (I know it’s summer) but when Apache creek is playing like a championship course (fairways, greens) for under half the price.... idc if it’s Scottsdale for that price you would think they could water the grass.

It was a lot of fun getting out with my buddies. The course was a little rough in spots, but you expect that in the summer in AZ.

Course is going through repairs or renovation and should not be open. Awful conditions! Every aspect of the course was sub standard. Not even close to the level of a Troon property and Phil Mickelson association with this property is not a good look for him. They even charge for a dozen or so range balls. Total money grab by this establishment. I honestly do not see where the positive reviews of this place come from. Management shills must account for some or most.

Who starts a tournament at 11;00 am..? Booked a round at 11. We showed up at 10:45. With a line out the door. Golf Now and Teetime both need to BETTER display events during the booking action. Would simply go some where else versus getting totally MAD.

Will definitely play this course again, very challenging greens. Great vistas.

Friendly staff. Course was challenging and fun. We did not feel rushed and we were never waiting. Food was great at the snack bar/ restaurant.

Staff was friendly and helpful as I arrived. I went to the driving range to warm up before the round. There wasn’t much good grass left on the range. It was filled with sand and spray painted.

The starter got us out early due to some late golfers in the previous tee time. He drove us to the first tee and gave us some helpful tips for play.

Most of the fairways were in poor shape. I know the valley has seen a decent amount of high temps. The greens were bumpy and burnt out as well. I was not impressed with the condition of the course for it being a Scottsdale area course and the price.

The staff is great! Outwardly friendly and engaging! They are there to make your day memorable!

Which is a good thing because the course could use some TLC! Greens were crunchy and looked like they were infected with spurge. 60% of the practice putting green was decent. No problemo's on the fairways! Closer in though, VERY tight thin lies! Bordering on chipping off wet dirt roads.

Course is probably better early in the year; but 63.00 is a fair price any time of the year.

Be back? Probably; the clubhouse is nice!

Starter was very helpful when my friend was delayed for our tee time. We were a twosome and played the course in three hours, no waiting and no one behind us. Perfect.
