Hills at Pecan Valley Municipal Golf Course
About
The old Pecan Valley muni has evolved over the years as the successful culmination of work between the Army Corps of Engineer, the city of Fort Worth, and the Tarrant County Water Control District. When the city sold the old Worth Hills Golf Course to Texas Christian University, they were able to fund a deal to buy the 27-hole Benbrook Municipal below Lake Benbrook.
The Hills Course was rounded out in 1981 by Dave Bennett, who completed the addition to supplement this shorter, more wide-open course. The course is less lengthy now but water comes into play often, including the 375-yard 2nd hole that doglegs left around water.

pleasant surprise
A nice leisurely round in the Texas wind....greens were recently sanded but seemed to roll true and the fairways were well maintained....enjoyed the challenging topography with the creek in play on several holes on the back....especially 15 & 18
Greens need water
I know its very dry down here but they must have run out of water for the tees and greens. Wordt greens I have played for 40 years. We gave each other 2 putts and moved on. Course is a nice layout except for #2 which is tricked up.
PLAY AGAIN
Would not hesitate to play again. Enjoyed playing the Hills very much. Looking forward to playing the 'River'.
River Course
Great value and challenging. Greens are fair and rolled true. Well worth the hour plus drive to play.
Good challenge, hidden danger.
This course was a lot of fun. It is definitely a shot makers course. If you bend the drive one way or the other, you will see a lot of forests. Pretty good shape for this early in the season too.
Good course
We love playing Pecan Valley River. It's Fort Worth's number 1 municipal course and for good reason. Great greens and great prices for a good course.
best Greens
the River course at Pecan Valley has the best rolling greens that I have seen in the last 6 months and its just march now.
Good course
It's a good course with challenges for all skill levels.
Beautiful course/Friendly Staff
The staff was exceptioanally kind and friendly. Greens were well maintained even though at times a bit tricky which added some humor to our game. Great mix of pars .
My Only Complaint
This course needs to regulate the amount of groups on the course. It took my partner and I plus another pair 6.5hrs to play a round of golf. the group in front of us had not value of 'ready golf'. Causing us to lose rhythm and lag on our play. The marshall just shrugged us off and kept going. I've played the Rivers 3 times, and will never play again until this is fixed. I play many muni courses, and I've never maxed out past 5hrs on the weekend. Please fix, this is a fun course, but you need regulations.
Good course for the money
This is a good course for the money. And the layout is pretty fun. Easily the best muni in Fort Worth.
average course
For a municipal course it's ok. Tee boxes were in horrible shape. There were too many walkers slowing down the game and there were 3 ambassadors out there but that didn't seem to help. The greens are some of the better greens that I've played on and the layout of the track makes you use all your clubs.
Good Value For Sure
I thoroughly enjoyed the round, and actually shot one of my best rounds after not playing for months due to the weather out here. Great first experience..greens were in great shape, and everyone was friendly..fairly open, so you won't lose many balls here.
Great course for the money
Great course for the time of year and for the money greens where in good shape.
brings back memories

Drinking
Fun public course watch out for the water and sands
This Course has great layouts
Love to play fun and challenging. nice water shots and love the par 3s
greens were excelent
the greens may have been the smoothest i have played all year. course was in excelent winter shape. recently installed new bathrooms on the course, updated the clubhouse, proshop and added a covered patio for events. a great place to come out and "play two". the hills is slightly easier than the river. but still has lots of challenge.
