The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Great Course
Course was great, staff was very friendly, it's a challenging course for new golfers.
Great course conditions and challenging lay out
This was my first time to play fossil creek. The course was in great shape for this time of year. The greens were pretty fast and putted true. The fairways were a little thin but it's early in the year. All in all I really enjoyed. Many shot maker holes and with the wind we had, those became even tougher. Lots of water in play and many elevation changes. I'll play here again when in Fort Worth. It was a great value.
Great layout
Very fair golf course to the mid handycap player, we'll cared for
Great course, Teribble pace of play
I have played this course before and enjoyed myself. Unfortunately, this was not one of those times. They pace of play ruined the outing. It was so slow that the marshal was making excuses instead of enforcing the rules. Spending ten minutes waiting to tee off on every hole after hole 8 is definitely not ideal. We decided to skip the last hole. I will not be going back any time soon.
Great course
This was a fun and really unique course. Everything was good but the only issues were that the greens were sanded and the fairways were plugged. If your smart use a lot of irons and hybrids off the tee!
Got it all
Arnold palmer knew what he was doing when he designed this course. It's absolutely gorgeous. Has a little bit of everything. No two holes even remotely similar. Very fair to women. The course was packed but played at a nice pace. Is well worth the money!!! Loved this course!
manage your way around the creek
Second time playing this course was more fun than the first. I remembered where I was stung the first time and I proceeded with caution. This course is a lot of fun but you need to leave your bravado in the bag. I had a great time negotiating most par 4's with my 5 iron.
Great Greens
Course was in good shape. GPS was showing pin but was way off. Restrooms on the course were locked.
Top Course in FW
Excellent course with a unique design. Really utilizes the natural water features for some great holes. Greens, fairways and tees in pristine shape for February. Friendly staff and good pace of play. Will certainly play again.
Enjoyed this course, use every club in the bag, they gave a great offer for second round at $20.
Would play again,
Fossil Creek
The staff was excellent and I was able to tee off at the prescribed time. The starter paired me with an older couple who were excellent golf companions. The course was in very good condition for late January. A few tight lies on worn spots in the fairways, but they were the exception. The greens were fast and presented a challeng, but a fair one. The bunkers were filled with sugar sand and were well maintained. I will try and play again when the weather is hotter, limiting some of the would be golfers who slowed the round down. All in all, a fine course that was affordable and enjoyable.
Worth the Value
Definitely a must play. Great layout and always well taken care of.
I love Arnold Palmer designed golf courses.....
Played Fossil Creek for the first time since Arnie passed in September. Really paid attention to the course design this time in tribute to Arnie. This is a course that is wonderful to play with a very nice mix of holes requiring lengeth and holes requiring strategy. Course is in good shape, greens are very fast and true! Great time to come and play.
One of my favorites.
Right in the heart of north Ft. Worth sets this gem of a course. The design and layout shows just how beautiful our Southwest Texas landfall can be. Limestone cliffs and slow moving creeks touched by a well designed course.
Shot placement and tough greens
Short course. Very fun layout. greens were impossible. Miss the cup by an inch and it rolls into the water. Never seen that in my life.
Winter rounds are hard to beat
You can't beat 83 degrees on 12/28. The course was in very good shape. Greens roll true. This course is always a challenge but I love the layout.
What a joke
Saw this on Golfnow for 39.95 and had not been out to Fossil in a long time so I figured I would give it a shot. AWFUL DECISION. Tee time was at 11:30 and I was running late, pulled in at 11:20 to find out they were 30 minutes behind on the first tee. Then the front nine proceeded to take 2 hours and 50 minutes.
Always have liked the lay out and wished I could have stayed for 10-13 but could not bear that punishment of waiting on every single shot and left after 9 holes. Wont be back until they figure something out over there.
