The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Good Greens
The greens were in very good condition. The tee boxes were in decent condition but could be improved. Overall it was a good golf course to play.
This course is awesome!!!
This course has open shots tight shots blind shots and is very fun to play. I loved it.
Great Course
Nice facilities, great pace of play (Tuesday afternoon), friendly staff.
waiting
teed off 40 minutes after tee time because they did not have carts available
Wonderful Experience
I have played several courses in the D/FW area, including Cowboys and Texas Star. Without hesitation I can say that Fossil Creek is the best I have played. The greens were spectacular...pro quality for the most part. Beautiful, smooth, firm but not fast, I have never played better greens in Texas. Kudos to the greens keeper. The fairways were in fine shape, and the characteristics of the course are often unique and always interesting...elevated greens, peninsula greens, undulating fairways, a par 5 that begs for a 4 iron off the tee box. I can't wait to play this course again!
Player Tip: On the par 5 18th, hit 215 from the whites. Aim just to the left of the 2 fairway bunkers. Then, hit 160 to about 115 out and pitch in.
WINDY DAY
GREAT COURSE! VERY FORGIVING ON MOST HOLES BUT A GREAT CHALLANGE. I COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER COURSE TO PLAY ON. YOU ALMOST HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR DRIVER AT HOME ONLY A COUPLE OF HOLES A DRIVER IS NEEDED, EVEN ON PAR 5'S YOU ALMOST HAVE TO HIT HYBRID'S.
Great course, must play!
I have played at Fossil Creek many times and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to play a solid, challenging course near Ft. Worth, Texas. The layout is great, with rivers and streams and rock formations. Definitely have to plan your shots and work around obstacles.
Fun layout and nice features
This course is playing great, greens are running at a nice pace and the fairways are green and plush. Not many tight lies will be found around the greens. My only complaint is the course is very crowded which results in slow play. Otherwise it might be worth the wait.
Exceptional Condition
The course is in fantastic condition, if you can, play it soon! Great time! :-)
Great value at $40
Greens great fairways very good staff nice. Great value
good lay out
its a great course, pace of play can get slow and the GPS on carts that shuts carts down in certain areas is extremely frustrating, its no wonder annual pass member use there own carts
First time player
My first time playing but I will return. I enjoyed the conditions of the course but local knowledge will help lower the score.
first time but not the last
Challenging layout for average golfer. With discount green fee, great value. Will definitely play again.
Slow play, not monitored
I have played this course many times in the past. It appears there is more attention given to outside activities than golf. Slowest round of golf I have ever had to endure. There are no Marshall's and the drunken 4 somes spend more time discussing how many drinks they've had than playing golf. Get control of the course and it might be worth the cost to play. Should have brought a sleeping bag!!!
Great course/great shape
Amazing condition course, greens and fairways are the best I have played thisbyear
Best Course Yet

Very good course.
Very good course in very good condition right now (fairways and greens are excellent). Extremely good prices on golfnow. Play can be slow, but not any worse on many other courses on the weekend.
GREENS NOT AS FAST AS U WOULD THINK
greens n fairways r in excellent shape as good as any place n the D/FW
Great course, great greens and fairways.
My only complaint would be the pace of play. Our Tee time was pushed back and 5 hour round was a bit to long. Good thing the course was in such great shape it made it tallerable. Over all I would still go back anytime to play Fossil.
