About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

To Expensive for what you get
I seen five star reviews so booked a tee time to play here. We get in the tee box and it’s our turn to tee off and told we had to wait for another twosome that was supposed to play with us. We asked were are they and he says not here yet. We’re like what the heck. They hold us up waiting for them and they never showed up. I have played golf for many years and have never been told this. In fact they tell you to arrive 15 minutes early in case they run early. Then the fees are really high like $90 on weekend and no GPS, fairways are hard pan with no grass, the bunkers are not great and greens were horrible. This happens at this course a lot.,This is April not July or August. The staff was rude from the starter/Marshall to the manager. It is unfortunate because this course has a nice layout and is pretty tough and next to impossible to play in the horrible conditions. These 5 star reviews are a joke.

Fossil Creek never disappoints. Great place to play if you can grab a tee time as this track sees quite a bit of activity. Fun layout with mixture of gettable holes & those where par is a good score. New carts soon on the way will make Fossil Creek even better

Rained out
Was great until a monsoon hit us on the 8th hole and rained us out for the day. Unfortunately from what I understand, once a round is started there is no refund or raincheck. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Great Track for the Money
This was my first time playing this course. I have to say I absolutely love the layout. There is a ton of variety both off the tee and into the greens. The wind was blowing pretty strong for most of the day and man does that punish you on this course. I enjoyed the snack bar that sits between holes 7 and 16, great concept. The greens were in 8/10 shape, some bare spots on a couple, fairways were 7/10 but that’s to be expected for the season. The bunkers had excellent sand and were 10/10. My only complaint is mirrored in a lot of other reviews and it’s the carts. Mine desperately needed an alignment but I heard they are getting new ones soon. Can’t wait to play this course in the summer when it greens up and they have new carts. Great overall experience!

Course is in GREAT condition
Course is looking beautiful, only going to get better. Yes, carts could be updated, but I’m not here for the cart. Halfway house setup is perfect, and cart girl seen regularly. Even with a tournament in front, pace was good. Definitely going to be back

Disappointed
I make the tee times for a group of about 12 golfers and we can usually have from 6 to 8 players. BUT we can also end up with 5 players. THIS COURSE IS INFLEXIBLE. for fives-oms. Sorry, you may break up into 3 and 2 or someone can go home. So, today I went home. Although previously we have played 5 there and we are a ready play group and DO NOT hold up play, it was NOT GOING TO BE ALLOWED. I and my group do enjoy playing this course, however I must consider whether this aggravation is worth it when we end up with 5 players.

Disappointed
5 hour round on a Thursday afternoon. Golf carts are in bad shape, pace of play is slow and no marshal to move things along. Now I remember why I haven't played there in over 2 years.
