The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Texas does Texas things
Always enjoy playing this course. Probably one of the toughest courses I've played. It's summer in Texas so the greens aren't great this time of year but it's still a great course if you want to test your game.
Not worth it
Course is in rough shape. Probably hurt you back driving on the course because of all the moguls, dead spots roots and crevices. Fairways were ok. 1-9 greens were bumpy, patchy and awful. 10-18 were only slightly better. Not a family friendly course!!!! Had my 10 yr old daughter w me and expected to pay just to ride with me in my cart. Proshop said NO and made my 10 yr old sit between me & a stranger. Was told not enough carts!!!??!! I guess they meant that the 15 carts sitting outside the shop were not available for families. Definitely NOT family friendly. Oh well. Now I know.
Fun course, Great potential
Overall, this course is fun. It has many holes that test your skills as a golfer. The scenery is nice. Fairways were in good shape, Proshop staff, marshal, and starter were all very friendly. Literally my only gripe was the greens. For the price point I expect a lot more from the greens. Unfortunately this was a theme for almost every green on course.
Fair
Tee boxes and fairways were not that bad. Greens tho ….maaaan. Need work for sure
The course is the worst part about this course
The clubhouse and the people working behind the bar and in the beverage card fantastic! The problem is entirely that the course is poorly maintained!! They apparently have problems keeping grass on the greens in the summertime. Also, the rough is so full of crabgrass and overgrowth that it makes balls that should be findable disappear!! It’s sad, this is such a nicely laid out course, it shouldn’t be such a goat ranch!! 🐐
Greens
The greens were horrible! One temporary green on 10 that was better than the rest of them! Fairways were rock hard! Course is getting worse instead of better!
Thanks for your feedback. We are actively working on the greens complexes. The temporary green on 10 and sod work on multiple greens shows our commitment to improve the surfaces. We hope you'll visit us again in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to share your rating! We’re always looking to improve and enhance the experience for everyone. We hope to see you again soon for an even better visit!
Disappointing is an understatement
I now understand why you have to pre-pay at this course. If it wasn’t, everybody would cancel the minute they saw the putting green. I can honestly say, I’ve never been more unsatisfied with a purchase… and this is coming from somebody that is thrice divorced. To charge $100 for a goat ranch that takes 6 hours to play is a disgrace. Will certainly not be back.
Hi u028915891,
We're sorry you were unhappy with your experience with us. We responded to your review on google as well. Thanks for your feedback.
Great course
Greens needs slight attention but an overall great experience playing here.
Thanks for your positive feedback. We are actively working on improving multiple greens surfaces. We hope to see you back again soon.
Marshal was invisisble.
Wayne visiting from the UK. The course was in decent shape fairways and rough were well maintained ,
The greens were a bit ropey, we played lift and place from the bare soil to the grass on some of the greens, some greens had gur areas.
Pace of play was good on the front 9 but we had 3 guys jump on the back 9 who held us on every hole :-(.
Improving
Grass was great, some of the greens need work. Love the clubhouse, a little bit pricey for what you get. Like the starter on whole one, would like to see a Marshall on the course pushing faster pace when groups are held up.
Thanks for your feedback. We are actively working on improving multiple greens surfaces. We hope to see you again soon!
Needs some work but everything else is nice
I've played here for 15 years. Course is not in great shape, especially the greens. It was also a bit wet so had to dodge alot of mud. At least they didn't force cart path only. We played in 3 hours and 10 minutes cuz we cut ahead of a likely SLOW foursome... thank goodness for that. I would not pay more than $35 to play, even on weekends.
Definitely not worth the price paid
The greens were in terrible condition on every hole, including a rough temporary green on hole 10. A few looked like they were being repaired, but most were left untouched, and weeds were everywhere. For midsummer, I expected better given the steep fees.
Pace of play was also painfully slow. Almost every hole had a backup, and the marshal came around but nothing improved. We spent roughly 6 hours to play just 16 holes.
I hope the course gets the greens and pace back on track, but at these prices I would have a hard time returning.
Hi sshah5,
We're sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience. While we do have a few greens we are actively working on, we have seen improved conditions throughout the golf course. We will continue to invest in the golf course and make improvements where we can. Thank you.
Time for some help
Have always enjoyed this course, it’s got many challenges and opportunities. We are told it will be going through course renovations soon and boy does it need it. The clubhouse was completed so it’s time to move on to the course. Greens on most holes have fungus or rot, but I still like it here. The staff is great, practice area is also really nice. Love the course just time for some help..
Thanks for the positive review. As you could probably see during your round, we are actively working on improving multiple greens surfaces. We expect conditions to only improve as the weather continues to warm up. See you again soon!
Get Marshall that actually Marshall
I have played this course many times yesterday was the slowest I’ve played it. We informed the clubhouse at the turn the group in front of us was causing slow play.
When a Marshall finally showed up he asked about a club and we again brought up the slow play. He said the group was waiting on the group in front of them. However we could see the entire hole and tee box of the next and there was as no one in front of the group causing slow play.
Frisco farms needs to get marshals that actually do the job they are hired for.
Thanks for the feedback. We're sorry to hear the round was a bit slower than expected. We'll continue to work on this moving forward.
Fix the greens
The greens are in horrendous shape. This course really needs a makeover. And to be charging $60 on a weekday morning time for these conditions is robbery. definitely will not be going back.
Hi Kale2243711,
I'm sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience. We are continuously working on improvements and hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
Gone downhill
I had lived on the course for 12 years but it has really gone downhill. The greens were always fantastic, now trash. The fairways used to be above average, now below. Most everything else is overgrown weeds.
Hello,
Thanks for your feedback. We are continuously working on improvements. We hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
If it’s Arcis owned, don’t play it.
This course was never great, but now it’s far worse. $89 for a morning tee time here is diabolical. They need to get a grip. And it’s our fault for going to play it. DONT GO HERE IT SUCKS
Hi jaxMiller,
Thanks for your feedback. We are actively working on improvements and hope you'll join us again in the future.
5 minute gaps?!
We played a literal 6 hour round yesterday due to the course pacing so slow. We were told there were only 5 min gaps between t times. On a holiday?! Of course we expected people to be out enjoying a round, just like us, but the lack of managing that pace was terrible. No Marshalls were rotating that we saw. We were exhausted from the waiting. The greens needed help too, very patchy and not grown in as they really should be.
Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry your round took a bit longer than expected. We do not operate on 5 minute intervals. We are working on improving our pace of play on busy days and hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
Arcis Ruins Another Course
Plantation was never a great course, but Arcis has done another bang job in DFW with The Club at Frisco Farms.
Uneven tees, muddy and bare spot fairways, and diseased greens. Throw on top of that back-to-back groups resulting in 3+ hours for the front 9.
It’s been a long time since I’ve abandoned a course after 9, but it always seems to be Arcis owned courses and drive my blood pressure through the roof.
But hey, I guess they need to pay for the most expensive golf sim technology that’s sitting empty 80% of the time.
Save your time and money, go elsewhere.
Hi SealTeamRick,
