About
The Trails of Frisco golf course is one of Jeff Brauer’s most unique designs -- primarily because it doesn’t fit the mold of his other courses. Brauer, who’s known for his open, straight-forward courses, designed this one to tip out to a par 71, 6,900 yards, loaded it with hidden creeks, scenic wetlands, extensive bunkering, and massive greens. In fact, first-timers will be confused here. They’ll face intimidating views off the tee that leave doubt as to the problems that loom ahead, and it is definitely possible to lose all of your balls off the tee if you’re struggling.
The golf course is just flat-out challenging, especially on the front nine. No. 1 opens up with a creek on the left that cuts in front of the green and generally makes its presence known on every shot. The play here is to stay right and stay away from its subtle presence on the left side. The creek comes into play on Nos. 2, 4, 5, and even No. 9, where it chutes from the fairway in front of the green and surrounds the green of this challenging par 4.
All told, water and waste areas are in play on 16 of 18 holes (including every par 3), and the creeks are enhanced by visible lakes and ponds on the back side, even though it is considered a bit easier than the front.

Over priced
The value isn’t there for the cost of the round. The pace of play was terrible and after 4 hours, on a Tuesday 9:33am tee time, on the front 9 we had to quit. The driving range was total garbage with mats that were worn down to the concrete. Several places on the cart path were damaged and the course it self was lacking attention with massive cracks in the fairways themselves. This course shouldn’t be priced over $40.
Nice condition despite drought conditions
I had a morning tee time and was impressed with the greens. The layout was good and the course was in good condition despite the 100 degree weather. I’m thinking about buying a house out there! Wish me luck!
Nope
Greens were great. Course in terrible shape. Craters in ground. Cart paths extra bumpy and washed out in some areas. No way worth $100 green fees. $40 maybe.
Greens are Great
I live near this course and used to play all the time but recently the conditions weren’t the best. This time that was definitely not the case the greens were perfect considering the lack of rain. The fairways and tee boxes are a bit dry but they have to focus the water somewhere. There are big cracks in the rough on some holes but again I don’t think it’s rained significantly here in about 2 months. We did see the beverage cart 3 times during the round as well. The round took just at 4 hours for a foursome to play 18 and we teed off around 8:45. I had a BLT at the bar after the round which was also really good.
Good Enough
Course was in good shape and is harder than it seems which keeps It interesting. Worst part about the place is the facilities. Carts were dumpy, range is pretty busted, food was both slow and not great. Bev cart service was actually really solid.
No marshal to be seen to police pace of play whatsoever. 1 group had 3 tee times backed up behind them.
Lots of potential but wasn’t my favorite experience. Sadly, I expected better I guess
Waste of time and money
This course is in rough shape due to lack of water but also layout is not good. Very disappointing to play here. There are better courses in the area
Challenging Course
This is a great course but it can be challenging. You have to be able to place shots where they should be. Great condition, greens were true, bunkers have fluffy sand.
Good course and fun time
Had fun playing nine holes. Course is in great shape, and greens are fast. Good value for money for anyone in Frisco.
Excellent Golf Couse however pace of play was slow
Great golf course with several difficult holes and the layout and shape where very good. The issue is they don't seem to have any marshalls to move along slower players. It took about 4 1/2 hours for a early morning tee time.

Excellent Course - Great Condition
It had been about a year or two since I played Trails
Of Frisco and this course is in incredible shape. Fairways were impeccable and the greens rolled true. Really fun course, a good challenge and a great place to play.

Best shape I've ever seen it in
Fairways were like green carpet...the greens were in amazing shape yesterday. I cant remember when I saw it in that good of shape last. Well worth the $80 we paid to play it. They have fixed the wooden bridges and the cart paths that used to be damaged.
