About
The Carlton Gipson-redesigned Moody Gardens Golf Course is one of the most difficult tracks in Texas, universally considered one of the top five municipals in the state. The Gulf winds pound the course and water comes into play on every hole. Even from the regular tees, the route rolls 6,816 yards, so short knockers are truly at a disadvantage.
Getting there : From I-45 south, exit 61st St. and turn right. Find Stewart and turn right, then turn right again on 99th Street. Drive to Sydnor Ln. and turn right-you'll see the entrance on the right side of the road.

Hidden Gem
Golf course is in very good condition. Staff wasnt overly friendly but not rude either. Dont like the fact that they dont except cash.
If you are in the Galveston area it is a must play.

Always wanted to play and enjoyed it.
Considering this course is on an island it’s great. Don’t forget the mosquito spray. You will need it.

Great value for the money
Got out second tee time of the day and finished fast. Course was nice, lots of interesting water holes.
Just make sure to bring bug spray!

Very nice golf outing.
Everyone was friendly and the course was very nice. The greens had been worked, but that is just the luck of the draw. Spraying for mosquitos would not hurt as well. I would recommend this to everyone.

Great course
The only reason my value and course condition ratings are a little low is the greens had just been aggressively aerated and the rate was still full pop. I think a slight discount would have been fair. That aside, this is a great course in great shape. All course staff I came in contact with were great from pro shop attendant to bev cart person and all Marshalls. I played 2 rounds right after a big rain and the course drained well and was back to 90 degree cart path rule after 1 day. I look forward to playing here many more times.

Aerated greens
They aerated last week. Putting was poor as expected. My problem with this is no notice of this until we got to the course. And I have always felt the green fees should be discounted when the greens are freshly aerated.

Player
The golf experience was not good on this day. The front nine was closed and we were instructed to play the back nine twice. The greens were punched and sanded and not worthy of play.
No alert was given when I made the reservation on GolfNow of the course conditions.
