About

The Carlton Gipson-redesigned Moody Gardens Golf Course is one of the most difficult tracks in Texas, universally considered one of the top five municipals in the state. The Gulf winds pound the course and water comes into play on every hole. Even from the regular tees, the route rolls 6,816 yards, so short knockers are truly at a disadvantage.

Getting there : From I-45 south, exit 61st St. and turn right. Find Stewart and turn right, then turn right again on 99th Street. Drive to Sydnor Ln. and turn right-you'll see the entrance on the right side of the road.

Love this course BUT...

Great course and worth the drive from Katy but that darn wind will add 5-10 strokes to your card. Todays wind was ONLY blowing 22mph. Literally a 2-3 club wind. It was crazy. Still love the course.

Great course, good challenge playing in wind. TERRIBLE MOSQUITOS

Course is in good shape. Mosquitos are terrible. The only saving grace is that the wind is so strong all the mosquitos can’t get ahold of you. Overall good time.

Nice layout. Poor mgmt

Greens have gotten bad since NOBODY makes any effort to repair ball marks on green, and mgmt dies NOTHING to police or encourage basic player ettiquette. Likewise for fairway divots but less of an effect on your game.

Little if no marshall presence on course lately.... cutbacks ?

Island Golf Day

I enjoyed the challenge the course offered. All aspects of your game are tested here, so you must hit greens to give yourself a shot at par unless you like being stressed out trying to recover.

The greens are not easy, so stay below the holes and putt up hill if the pin is located on a sloped position.

The wind can be the negative to this golf club, so learn quickly what clubs to use down wind and against it.

Excellent condition. .quality track

Course is in very nice condition. .I would rate the greens as perfect. .course is designed with the prevailing gulf wind in mind. Multiple tee boxes makes finding the right length easy. ..lot of water generally laterally. .love playing here. Finished in 3.5 hours..nice range and practice area. .
