Moody Gardens Golf Course
About
The Carlton Gipson-redesigned Moody Gardens Golf Course is one of the most difficult tracks in Texas, universally considered one of the top five municipals in the state. The Gulf winds pound the course and water comes into play on every hole. Even from the regular tees, the route rolls 6,816 yards, so short knockers are truly at a disadvantage.
Getting there : From I-45 south, exit 61st St. and turn right. Find Stewart and turn right, then turn right again on 99th Street. Drive to Sydnor Ln. and turn right-you'll see the entrance on the right side of the road.

Golfer Reviews
Moody Gardens Golf
This was my third time to play the course and it was great as always. The weather had been horrible the week before including flooding and freezing weather with ice. However the course was in amazing shape considering. Bunkers were awesome as were the greens. I stayed at the Moody gardens hotel and ate at the restaurant downstairs. Both were amazing. Five stars across the board. Staff was also incredible.
Great course
The day I played it was chilly and windy. I had a terrible day hitting my driver but the course was in great shape. The greens were green and putted well
A must do in Galveston
One of the best public golf courses in southeast Texas. A lot of water, moderately fast greens (mostly due to wet conditions), nice challenging #18.
Great course
A cool and windy day, but an interesting experience. The wind made the course quite challenging, the greens were good as well as the layout. I look forward to another opportunity to visit!
Good value
Early start times lead to quick rounds. Course is in great shape. Greens roll true. Good customer service at check in. Really nice practice area.
Great Course!
My wife and I are from Oklahoma we have been traveling the cost from Florida to here and I must say this is one of the best maintained courses I have played on . The staff are great and the other golfers are awesome. If i lived here this would be my course.we will be back for sure!! Thanks Moody gardens for the great day of golf!
Wonderful Course!
My son and I teed off at 7:10am with the temperature being 55 degrees and no wind. WOW! Perfect weather! The course is challenging but very fair. Course knowledge is helpful on several holes but it is worth the cost and your time!
Great course in great condition
I love playing this course even with the constant wind! The course was in great condition as usual. Greens are so nice they remind me of Astro turf. I'll definitely be back!
Outstanding greens!
Excellent greens and fairways! Enjoyed the course and would recommend to anyone.
Island Golf is Good
The course wins I lose on this day due to poor drives. Tee boxes, greens, and fairways are in above average condition in comparison to the other public courses in the area. The greens are very receptive to accurate approach shots, but pretty slick, so be careful with that putter. Winds can play with your head too. This course is hard not to like.
Amazing!
Loved this course; a favorite in the Houston area.
Pure pleasure
The course is in excellent condition and the greens are like carpet.
A lovley, windy day
The course was calling my name and I came a running. For a cold, windy Saturday it was a lovely sunny day to hit the links. Tee to green the course was in pristine shape. There are five tee boxes to choose from and that makes a difference when the winds are howling. It was a two club wind and I was able to use a club in the bag. The greens are true and clean and the bunkers are a many that protect the large greens. The fairways are well marked with yardage and wide enough to forgive that hook or slice. The front and back are very different as the back nine are almost on an island unto itself. On the back nine, four holes go south and four go north with the ninth and eighteenth greens protected by water in the front. A fun, windy course that will give you your monies worth.
