Getting better
The new owners really are putting money in, and you can really tell on the fairways and greens, the greens are great even after all of the freezing and rain we have had this year. they just got an entire new fleet of golf carts. Gets better every day!
Early round
Played this course randomly, as I was just visiting for the weekend and played a solo round at 07:35am. The course basically wasn’t ready for players; sprinklers were still going, no bev cart, bar was closed, no snacks or anything available. After the turn I went back inside for a snack, but still no progress in the bar. The guy at the pro shop had to get a couple things from the back for me (trail mix, snickers) and ring me up in the pro shop. Course was decent, but course was not mowed well at all, greens need work. Twice I caught up to the groups in front of me and they ignored my suggestions of letting me play through; there were no marshals. In my opinion, it’s poorly managed. It’s a small neighborhood course with good pictures on its website. I would not recommend this course.
Visiting
The pro in the golf shop was very friendly, but the pace was slow. Singles and twosomes in front never let me pass as a single or offered to let me join to help pace. Course was in decent condition for a neighborhood course. Rough is not maintained and a couple greens need some work, but overall the course was nice. I would not play here again the next time I’m in Dallas; there are just too many other options.
Excellent course for the money
It was a great time at Duck Creek and w the renovations going on to the dinning rm and bar it will only get better. The greens were perfect and the layout was fun. There was not a Bev cart, but I believe that was due to the weather. Pro shop staff were great and even had some FJ golf shirts on sale for $20. Only complaint was that the carts were some what dated, but their IG page states that they're new carts have arrived!! Can't wait to play again.
DC
Not a long course, but plenty of challenge for all levels of player. Course condition average. Greens very slow.
Fun Course
Gave the course a "good" rating. Have played the course several times this year, however it wasn't as well manicured this time. Still a fun course to play with a few challenging holes. Had a good time!
Duck Creek
The cost and the pass of play were great. They need new golf carts yesterday. Ours broke down on 9. Otherwise a great day.
Work is paying off
Greens are really nice, fast but nice compared to a lot In the area. Fairways are still muddy from all the rain but that’s to be expected. The improvements done last year have paid off and the improvements going on now will only make it better. Steve the pro is making things better there and the new owners are willing to do what needs to be done to make it even better. This is becoming one of my favorite, only knock is weekend pace is slow. Play during the week and it’s great.
Wet but overall good
We played right after a week of rain. It was cart path only and very soft with the mud sticking to our shoes like crazy but we will go back. A couple tee boxes were really fluffy and the path to each hole was kind of confusing but nothing major to stop us from returning. There was nobody behind us and it took 4 of us 5 hours to finish. Less mud would have speeded up the round for sure.
Good value but painfully slow
Course is in great condition, especially compared to a lot of other courses right now. The pace of play was grueling and it took 5 hours to finish a round. The layout is really great for a neighborhood course.
Worth the price, but room for improvement
Course layout is okay, though a bit spread out in the neighborhood for walkers. Very short, and fairly open. Only complaint would be the greens can be a bit sandy, and the pace of play is pretty slow. Morning round on a weekend (around 8) was a little under 5 hours. I actually saw 3 groups play together as an 11-some for a while because it was so slow.
Overall worth the price, but with some easy improvements this course could be much better. Course is in much better shape than in years past!
