Was a decent course for the price.
There is no warden so things are extremely slow. Was about 5 hours for 18 holes. Other than that it's not a bad course for its price. The golfers are pretty nice, but since the holes are bunched together you will find people from other holes hitting their errant shots off the fairway of another hole.
Eagles, Birdies and Ducks
Great overall course for Mid Handicapper. I shoot in the low 90s and can see it be a bit difficult for a weekend warrior.. Greens are fairly small and challenging. No Marshall out there so driving your cart is basically up too the hole .. Please follow golf etiquette. It seem like it was a great country club at one time but for the $15 cart and fee can't beat it.
Still in pretty rough shape
The staff is very friendly, and you can see that they're trying to upgrade this course, but it still has a long way to go. Fairways are growing in, greens aren't bad, but the general conditions (tee boxes, signage, short rough) are pretty shabby, especially for the price. Any of the Dallas muni's are a MUCH better deal than Duck Creek. I won't go back, and would not recommend it to anybody, at least not until they clean it up.
Staff friendly & good value
would play again and would recommend to others to play also. staff was very friendly and enjoyable
Beautiful, challenging layout
Beautiful course. The greens and tee boxes need some time to get into good condition, but I believe it is because they just re-opened after being closed for several years. You feel like your playing a classic US Open style lay-out that demands precise shot making. Bring some extra golf balls because there is water on 14 holes. The value is tremendous for a round after work.
needs improvements
needs ball cleaner, better signage for course direction,, greens too fast
Great Value for your $$$
People think paying $40 per round they should be playing at Augusta. From where the golf course was 6 months ago to where it is today is a complete 180. Granted the greens are still slow, but run a true as any in the Metroplex.
I would suggest playing here while the prices are still cheap and not so crowed, because once word gets out and the greens start to come in, this place will be jammed packed.
average course
Decent course greens need work. Could help if there were more yardage markers. The hot deal price is On the mark but wouldn't pay more.
Decent course. Greens are still pretty sandy
Greens are still pretty sandy. Great course for practice
A course with good potential. Needs time and attention.
This course is tucked away in a quite neighborhood. Upon entering the parking lot one will notice several surrounding facilities that are 'eyesores'. there is a tennis court, basketball court, and pool that are in terrible condition. This adds a negative, neglected quality to the atmosphere.
The clubhouse is also dated, and rather small.
There is a scent about the building that I will not try to describe, but is rather odd.
After hopping in a gas powered cart, and taking a few minutes to find the number one tee tucked behind the cart return shed, I started my round.
The fairways are in good condition, just don't miss them. On the occasions I missed the fairway I found myself playing from mud, dirt, or worse.
The greens are sanded, not heavily, but enough to effect puts from time to time. They ran true on most holes and had no major blemishes.
Traffic was light and the course plays fairly quickly. Aside from the aforementioned issues it played OK. I would not pay full price. I payed $20 to play, and would not pay any more then that to play again.
I did not use the driving range, if one would call it that, but noticed it while checking in. The range balls are incredibly overpriced and the range is a pathetic attempt. Narrow, short and not well kept.
Overall, one might play this course now for a good rate. Play again in a few months and check the progress. If it is given proper attention and has some money invested it could be a decent everyday course one day.
NO 100 YARD MARKERS ANYWHERE ON THE COURSE
My only issue was that there are no 100 yard markers on the course, so basically you're just guessing on how far you are inside from 150 yards.
Not long, but challenging
Used to be a member when course was Oakridge Country Club. Wanted to check it out now that it reopened. Disappointing conditions. Tee boxes were spotty and not cut. Greens were recently sanded, were slow, but putted true. Although not long, challenging layout from the tips. Plan to play again when conditions have improved. Get a deal and don't pay the regular rates!
Nice
Nice layout, quite challenging, 18 is one tough finishing hole, greens very slow and sandy but should be good come summer, staff very friendly and helpful, will play again.
good course
nice course, lot of small doglegs, greens were sanded but rolled well.i will go back when it gets hot out, course should be great then.
Decent course
I had a good time on the course the fairways were ok green they were not hard greens were sands and rolled slow u can tell they r trying to improve U can tell the lay out of the course has some nice holes good views I would go back and play
Cheap For A Reason
I'm not going back to Duck Creek for a long time. I'm not sure why the course openned already because it's not in good condition right now. The greens were awful.
It was cheap but for a little more you could by many higher quality courses around the same area.
If someone offered me a free round there I'm not sure if I'd take it.
Sandy Greens
This course is not even close to worth what they ask for. It's in good shape but I would only go back for $25 dollars, not $50
A work in progress
I have enjoyed the course design for years. It provides plenty of risk-reward decisions. The turfs have only had a few months of growing weather but have a good start. It was well worth the price paid.
You get what you pay for
You get what you expect when you get 18 holes, cart, range balls, & 2 beers on a Sunday round in Garland for $39. Home course for Joe Hacker, Sammy Slice, and Freddie Fore. Saw more duck hooks than ducks. All that said, the fairways were in good shape, & the layout was allright. Greens were slow and easy. If you want an ok place to play for a good price, you could do worse. Just look out for loose drives from other "golfers."
A lot of potential but needs a lot of work too
Very fun course. Fairly straight. Would recommend round on deal from golfnow or ask if they have any specials when calling in because course still needs a lot of work before I'd pay full price to play here. However, as a result of this there was not a lot people out so had the course to myself which was awesome!
