Breath of fresh air… fingers crossed
Have been to this course off and on for the past 2 yrs, stopped going because of the unfriendly staff and wait on carts. However, I Have gone the past 2 Saturdays because it’s closer for my buddies and I must say they have a new person working Saturdays mornings and this dude is on it, friendly, smiles, provides true customer service and has provided a better experience! On top of that they also manage the carts better to where they don’t run out! If this continues it will definitely change my views! The play is still slow but improving, still no true club house or much food options, and very little range balls, however they do have a good selection of drinks available so that’s a plus in the heat!. But things do seem to be improving with new staff and at least have staff that seem to enjoy their job! The course is in decent shape and the greens are pretty good…better than expected.
Good price to play, nothing elae
Single wide trailer as club house. Port a potty for bathroom use up front. Not all toilets worked on course. Greens were half bare. Fairways had openings from lack or watering.
4th of July round
I would highly recommend not playing on the holiday, ended up leaving the course because it was so slow and Marshall’s were not enforcing the pace of play. We gave up at the start of the 6th hole after it had already been 2 hour and 15 minutes since we started.
Nice day of golf for good price
I took my 10 year old grandson on his first round of golf here. It was perfect for the adventure. We only played the front 9, so my review is on what we played.
This course is a no-frills day out. I'd never played the course before, but the course was in much better shape than I expected for the price. The greens and fairways were in good shape. The course is pretty flat, but has enough challenge to have fun for weekend duffers, young players and practice rounds. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Pro shop is in a trailer as the club house had recently burned down. Bathrooms are problematic.
The gasoline powered carts don't have fancy GPS, but are fine, so bring your range finder app. Pace of play was about 4-4.5 hours, based on our 9 hole pace.
All in all, if you want hills, nightmare bunkers and beautiful scenery, for several hundred dollar greens fees, this isn't your course. But, if you want to practice your game at an easy to book friendly course, Duck Creek could fit your bill. I definitely will go back.
Enjoyable
This course was a great value. It has lots of potential.
Duck Creek G.C.
Pretty simple straight forward track. Thought the greens were better than expected. Bring a rage finder. There are 150yd markers but no other yardage markers like 200yd or 100yds.
Good enough to play it again and it was cheap.
Not Worth The Time
I’ve played this course a couple of times. I understand it’s essentially equivalent to a small town muni on a shoestring budget, and do not have high expectations for the place, but you could at least properly space out tee times… Instead, we were waiting at every tee box and usually waiting multiple groups deep. I’ve played bad courses and still had an enjoyable experience many times, but I just don’t think that’s ever going to happen here. Neither worth the time nor money, imo. I won’t be going back.
Overbooked on Weekends
I have played Duck Creek once before, so I am familiar with its poor conditioning and uninspired layout. Today at the last minute I had some freedom to play 9 holes. Unfortunately, this course was the only one nearby with tee times available. I planned to play 9 holes. When I checked in, the guy at the pro shop recommended I return for a cart in 15 minutes—which was 5 minutes AFTER I was scheduled to tee off. He offered no explanation. I decided to just walk the 9 holes, but when I showed up to the first tee there was a group on the first green, two groups on the fairway, and another two groups waiting to tee off. Shortly after two MORE groups that had tee times ahead of mine drove up to the tee box. I decided to leave the course instead of teeing off what would have been at least 30 minutes and probably closer to one hour late.
It was particularly disappointing that no explanation or even warning about the overbooked tee times was offered when I checked in. It was even more disappointing the poor attitude of the staff at the pro shop when I asked for a refund.
Even if you are willing to tolerate poor conditions on a flat (even by North Texas standards) course for cheap, this place isn’t a safe bet because they severely overbook on weekends.
Duck
$15 deal, so thought I'd give it a try.
Not long,, but challenging layout with numerous holes where water comes in play.
Worst course conditions I've EVER seen on this course.
Dirt in fairways, tee boxes not mowed, weeds and clover everywhere.. Standing water and washed out areas around green and tee boxes.
