White Hawk Country Club - Gray Hawk Nine
About
Located just an hour south of downtown Chicago, White Hawk Country Club offers 36 holes of championship golf. The holes are divided into four nines called Red Hawk, Grey Hawk, Black Hawk, and Silver Hawk. The Grey Hawk nine was one of the first nines built back when it was just an 18-hole golf course. It's the second longest of all the nines at 3,535 yards from the back tees, but it's still much shorter than the 3,846-yard Silver Hawk Course, which is White Hawk's toughest layout. Grey Hawk has a traditional links-style layout with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards coming into play throughout. In addition to the four golf courses, White Hawk also has a practice facility with a driving range that has target greens and a short game area with a bunker.

GREAT HIDDEN GEM
The Black course is my favorite to play. silver not so much.
WhiteHawk
It was a bit wet . 1st hole in silver green was under water and the carts babysit you near tee and greens but guess that’s the new golf technology everyone is using . You have 10 seconds to get back on cart path …..
Don’t Play Silver
They have 4 nines (newest one is Silver). The lady at check in told us we were playing Grey/Silver. And that is what you get for booking on line. When we got to 1st tee the Marshall came up and was friendly. He said we would like the Grey 9. It was his 2nd favorite but nobody likes or plays the silver 9. He was right, we like the Grey 9, but the Silver was so hard it ruined the whole round. You are in the middle of a marsh with nothing around and you are constantly hitting long shots to carry all the reeds. You would need to be a consistently good player to enjoy this 9, and I am just a casual player.
They know how bad it is, they should give players a choice when booking.
The course won today
I played the black and the silver course both were tough on me . I shoot around 95 to 105 on average neither one of those happened today..I will be back to get my revenge
White hawks Cart Path Only Day
Great course and friendly environment. Great bar and clubhouse. Only problem was cart path only on this course is brutal . Should realize what holes are just to far away from path and adjust the GPS carts to keep off all par 3’s and some 4’s but some how we’re completely dry to drive on but mile walk from cart path!
Watch out for additional $5 per golfer charged at course on a Hot Deal
Course was in great shape for beginning of November. Pace of play was slow however. Biggest disappointment was the additional $5 per golfer charged at the course when prepaying for a Hot-deal on Golfnow. Makes the Hot-deal Luke-warm. Argued to no avail at the course. Pretty underhanded for Whitehawk to implement the additional charge after you've already prepaid on Golfnow . Is Golfnow even aware of this? Very disappointed!
The golf courses are under no obligation to GolfNow... it's a courtesy which (in some cases) undermines the customer with GolfNow's deceptive and ridiculous pricing. Most courses are quitting GolfNow for that reason...
Not my favorite
Sandy Pines is much better option, in my opinion.
Time to get in shape or take up pickle ball
