About
Riverside Golf Club is appropriately named. The course sits in a floodplain along the Trinity River with water in play on seemingly every hole. This is a combination links-style/traditional layout that is surprisingly difficult for a municipal course. Great holes abound on the Roger Packard layout, which requires the rare combination of length and accuracy when playing from the tips.
Holes 4-6 offer one of the better stretches of golf, starting with a 462-yard par 4 that is cut in the landing area by pesky fairway bunkers, and features a long approach into an elevated green that is surrounded by water and slopes back-to-front. Club down on no. 4 because leaving it short still offers the chance for an up-and-down. No. 5 is a good par 3, especially from the middle tees where it generally plays as a short iron. Watch for the front pin placement, which can leave you with a long downhill putt if the tee shot is too long. Water looms to the right but it takes a bad shank to dunk it in the drink. No. 6 goes 543 yards, doglegging left along the Trinity with water fronting the green. The tee shot must be long and straight, and anything too far right leaves a precarious second shot around the bend.
The back side is the more fun of the two, taking you through good combinations of holes that offer excellent birdie opportunities if you’re on your game. You'll need those birds when you come down the home stretch.

Slick greens
Course in good shape after rain yesterday. Greens are hard and FAST. Always a good choice. Played in under 4 hours
So Slow
I’ve played here many times and usually I have few issues but today it took over 4.5 hours to play a round with my dad. We had to wait on every tee and there was a group of 5 and a group of 4 playing their own personal tournament a couple holes in front of us with several holes of space in front of them. No Marshall to be seen despite the staff in the pro shop assuring us they had one. At one point there were 4 groups waiting to tee off on one hole. The course itself was in good shape, the only complaint were the greens were a little beat up but it’s also mid-December so that’s to be expected. Overall good value for what I paid and will probably come back, just frustrated at the pace of play.

Great price, course conditions were very good and greens were best Ive played all year!!! Staff was friendly, beautiful course, tons of fun. Will definitely be back.

Rhe greens were immaculate, the fairways in very nice shape, the tee boxes were great and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommend that you play this course.

The greens were absolutely perfect, the fairways in very good condition and the tee boxes were also very good. I have played 5 local courses in the last 2 weeks and these greens were absolutely perfect. I am headed back soon.

Always friendly Pro shoo staff...
Thru rolls greens and few patches on the fairway but do not bothering to playing....

My review- Riverside
Challenging course and I like that. Pace of play was really good. Some of the areas along the fairway and around the greens on the back nine were not good at all. Some areas were good. A few of the areas that were bad included the greens. Thankfully, it wasn’t very many holes. Other than that, I enjoyed my round. I would play here again. Price was pretty good, too
Slow... round
Weekend golf so I guess you have to expect to play a 5 hour round.. no Marshall so pace of play was not favorable.
No refund for rainout
It was pouring down rain but since they didn’t close the course we did not receive a refund. Pretty shady move considering these were unplayable conditions.
Not horrible...
But not great either. First time to play here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course is not in tip-top shape. Not worth the $50+ green fee - perhaps when things get in better shape.
Top Notch Staff
I was late for my golfnow tee time due to car trouble and staff member allowed me to play 2 hours later. I know the course doesn't receive any money from GolfNow and he could've just held me to the agreed time. I wish I got the name of the kind gentleman in the pro shop. His kindness will be the reason I would visit Riverside again.
Green were fast & true
Course was in outstanding shape. Greens were very quick and rolled smoothly. Definitely will play again soon based just on the putting conditions alone.
Course is in relatively good shape with amazing greens. Staff can be harsh or sometimes rude.
