About
Riverside Golf Club is appropriately named. The course sits in a floodplain along the Trinity River with water in play on seemingly every hole. This is a combination links-style/traditional layout that is surprisingly difficult for a municipal course. Great holes abound on the Roger Packard layout, which requires the rare combination of length and accuracy when playing from the tips.
Holes 4-6 offer one of the better stretches of golf, starting with a 462-yard par 4 that is cut in the landing area by pesky fairway bunkers, and features a long approach into an elevated green that is surrounded by water and slopes back-to-front. Club down on no. 4 because leaving it short still offers the chance for an up-and-down. No. 5 is a good par 3, especially from the middle tees where it generally plays as a short iron. Watch for the front pin placement, which can leave you with a long downhill putt if the tee shot is too long. Water looms to the right but it takes a bad shank to dunk it in the drink. No. 6 goes 543 yards, doglegging left along the Trinity with water fronting the green. The tee shot must be long and straight, and anything too far right leaves a precarious second shot around the bend.
The back side is the more fun of the two, taking you through good combinations of holes that offer excellent birdie opportunities if you’re on your game. You'll need those birds when you come down the home stretch.

Tough
Tough day, playing in foursome and only one had played the course before. Started with early tee time and couldnt see a thing as well as not knowing the course. 6:30 is too early to tee off now as the daylight doesnt get bright enough until about 6:50. My error and definitely a different way to start as you hit a ball into the unknown and try and track it down. Staff is absolutely fantastic and the course is really challenging the way it is laid out. The course is eroding badly up against the river but still in pretty good shape otherwise. Not much in the way of off course amenities.
Ball Eater!
Love this course. Always have. Be ready to get challenged. There are a few holes that will test you.
As I Told my wife, this course will pressure you all day. No rest for the weary.
If you haven’t tried this course, I recommend you drive the few additional miles and give it a try.
Well maintained course
The fairways and greens are maintained well. Good layout. Fair playing course. Plenty of bunkers to challenge you, but a good overall course.
No grilla course
Course was great. Well kept fairway and solid greens. Don't expect to spend any time at the bar as it's non existent. For the money its a great course. Find a bar close by to have a drink after 18.
Pleasantly pleasurable golf
Extremely friendly staff. Texas summer Hot temperatures & COVID hot tempers not an issue at this course. Pace of play perfectly managed & course conditions very good for late summer challenges.
Worth the value
First, time playing. Felt rushed but many golfers, so I understand.
Won't be going back unless I'm invited.
Course is well maintained but everything after that is sub par.
Good experience
Liked the pace of play. Maybe better if there were gps on carts for those not familiar with course.
Solid Course
Probably the best value for weekend golf in DFW. Course was in pretty good shape, just some muddy spots in a few areas. Greens were still a little bumpy, but nothing too bad. Overall, can’t beat that price for a solid course on a weekend.
