About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Practice your accuracy
Great off-season course to go work on your accuracy. With a number of narrow fairways and built hazards off the fairway, hitting down the middle is key. The Par 5s are reachable in two (2), but only for the BOLD. Amenities were virtually non-existent but, hopefully the new management sees the potential for opening the Bar and Clubhouse for breakfast/lunch during the season. Greens were definitely in off-season shape (Poor).

Greens
Due to the light freeze we had the week before, the greens look like they are out till May again. I had made a lot of notes where players are going around the stakes & barriers that are put up on several different tee areas, but the greens themselves are 50% of the game. Maybe this time they will plant a grass that can survive the freezing, which has become inevitable each winter.

On hole #5 Tee: The Championship Tees were unable to be used. There were trees blocking the shot.

Great for the cost
Easy drive out 290, you know what you are getting for the price. And it seems like they are working to make it better

Decent country course
It was cold and breezy so the course played long and hard. The greens were generally small and difficult to hold the ball on. The layout was challenging in that we had never played it before. All in all, we had a good time and felt the price point matched the course nicely.

Great course for the value.
Always book thru Golf Now to get Hot deals. Today the lady at the front desk was rude and very strict on t off time even though no one was there to t off. We were about an hour early because our drive time is about 45 minutes and road construction was bad and wanted to be early than late.. She finally let us T Off but she needs an attitude adjustment. We play there at least once a week and do not need someone that is rude to begin our round. This isn't the only time she has been rude to us. The other 2 young ladies have always been nice.
