About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Good overall
The greens still need quite a bit of work. Not much grass on some of them. They had recently aerated the fairways so it was a bit rough with roll and lie. Overall not bad especially for the price

It has been in better shape hit or miss course!
Course was in decent shape but the greens are horrible! Last time here they were in great condition this time they were really bad. This course is hit or miss on the greens, seems like they cannot get it figured out how to keep nice greens. I live in the area and this was one of the warmest Februarys on record and March has been nice. Greens should be in a lot better shape! They could really use someone who knows how to manage the greens. Traps are never raked always hard, packed and muddy if it rained. There are still quite a few dead trees and logs laying around. For the money not bad but could be a lot better with a good greens keeper!

Only last minute tee time I could find
The course is in pretty bad shape from tees to greens. The greens are really bad and luckily we were not playing for score, just to try out a new set of clubs, so we would just pick up after the first putt if it did not go in. We still managed to have fun, the course has so much potential it could be a really good place to play.

Legendary Oaks
Everything was great except for the greens- they’re still coming back to life from the winter season and they’re is a lot of low lying bumpy crab grass that make for bumpy greens that do not roll true

Day of golf
Greens in terrible shape need someone who knows what they are doing, why not go over to cypress lakes golf course and see what greens should be like !

Needs some TLC
I have been playing here since the early 90's after it first went public and had only 9 holes. Over the years the course conditions eb and flow from pretty good to yesterdays round which was pretty poor. I get that we had a freeze and it may take a little while for it to bounce back. We are pretty easy going and enjoyed some time playing with our sons and enjoying some golf time. I realize you need players to make money but if I would have paid more than let's say $35 dollars and not been told of the course conditions, I would have been asking for a refund after the first couple of holes. We hope that things improve soon. It will always be on our rotation but not for a while.
