About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

You could get
spoiled with the pace of play…I’m fortunate to play around noon…normally twosomes in front of us…2 hr 55 min for the round, riding of course.
Best conditioning
Been a looooonnnnggg time since we seen so much green on the course.
For years it seems like the fairways had more dirt than grass.
However yesterday it was green and plush all around giving the course much better playing conditions.
Much easier to hit a shot on 1/2” of lush grass than hard pan dirt.
If the greens could get rolled out and flattened a bit we would be doing awesome!!!
But since the last time we weee there maybe 4 months, the team has done Legendarily good work!!!

lpw hanging limbs
course is shaping up. Please trim the trees in the restroom area at the club house. I almost poked my eye out on those very low hanging limbs! Thank you

Over the last…
5 weeks, the greens have drastically improved…green #1 needs a couple more weeks of growing…but the other greens are in really good shape…some are almost perfect…we’ll definitely be back.

It’s always an enjoyment
when I’m able to play a round of golf with my college age son. Golf course is starting to look good. First green still has a ways to go, by far the worst green on the course, but fortunately the other greens are starting to come around, and some greens are in really good shape…fairways are in good shape…play smart and you’ll score good.

Good shape
Course looked and played well for the most part. One or two greens needed some work as did a couple tee boxes. Otherwise was good.

Everyone must have had
…a day off from work…the course was crowded….this is basically how our day went, the 18th hole had a group on the green, a group in the fairway and 3 groups lined up waiting to tee off…took 4 hrs 40 mins to play 18 holes and we were in carts, and no restrictions such cart path only..
And yes I said would recommend this course to a friend, why, usually it’s good pace of play…not sure what was going on today (Tuesday, May 30th)

Beware!
I didn't expect a PGA type layout. However, the greens were in really bad shape and the course in general was very dry. In addition, I made my t-time and paid the stated green fee of 35 dollars on GolfNow. When I got to the course, they charged me an additional 28 dollars! In the shape the course was in, it really wasn't worth 63 dollars.
Did they give you a reason for the extra $28 charge? I’ve book this course a couple of times through golfnow, when I checked in, they’d say I’ve paid…I’d sign the cart sheet and they’d hand me a key and I’d be on my way.
Fairways play fair…
some greens need some help…enjoyed the time I spent with my son as we made our way around this fairly open course…some trouble can be found, but play smart and you’ll be ok.

Fun to get out
and work on what game I have. Greens need some help, but fairways give you fair shots. Mostly, wide fairways, helps when you don’t hit that perfect drive. Friendly staff in the pro shop, greeted us with a smile.

Wet but good
Course was in decent condition considering all the rain. Cart path only so got some steps in 😂. Overall good time once I passed the foursome that was talking their own sweet time

POOR COMMUNICATION
I drove a little bit over an hour with 3 friends to try and play this course. The morning we were going to play it was raining a little bit but not enough for the course to be closed. I called 3 times before going to be sure that they were open and we were going to be able to play before driving all the way out there. Not only did i not get in touch with the pro shop, but they outsource their calls to what seemed like a call center. Every time I called I was told that they were open and the weather should be fine. Once we got there and there wasn’t a soul in sight and the gates were locked i called back. Once again I was told that they were open and I shouldn’t have only issues, but this time i told them I was there and they were stumped. After being on hold for 30 minutes sitting outside the gate I was told they were closed. WHY DID IT TAKE 4 CALLS AND ME SHOWING UP TO FIND OUT THEY WERE CLOSED. Not only did I waste 2 hours round trip driving but my friends and I did not get to play at all that day anywhere else. Terrible course and will not recommend to anyone. I have called and complained 2 times since then and have been hung up on.

rained out
I was rained out after 4 holes but what i saw of the course it was in poor condition. Worse than it used to be. greens were in bad shape, very slow and it looked like the holes hadn't been recut in quite a while
