About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Not worth $50 in current condition
Course is patchy in places. Some tee boxes with grass to the ankles. Greens were mostly pretty good. $50 is too steep for this course in its current state. $35 max in my opinion.
Nice turnaround and great value
I almost hesitate to give a good review because I would like for this course to remain a secret however the last time I played this course it was in rough shape. The greens were bad and had many burn marks. What a difference a month can make! Amazingly, even with the Texas heat the greens were in excellent shape along with the rest of the course being in pretty good shape. The clubhouse and amenities still leave a lot to be desired but the course conditions have significantly improved! Nice job maintenance staff! For the money, one if the best golf values and hidden secrets in the greater Houston area!

course has improved very much
can present quite the challenge depending on accuracy off the tee, and the tee markers you play. Playing the tips can be very difficult, as you will need to be able to shape your shots, both draws and fades. Greens are in very good condition considering the heat of the summer in Texas, as well as the dirt spots that were on the greens just a couple months ago! The maintenance guys and greens keeper have done a great job turning the golf course around!

The greens have completely grown over. Due to this, the course is 100%. It is simply a great experience.

You could get
spoiled with the pace of play…I’m fortunate to play around noon…normally twosomes in front of us…2 hr 55 min for the round, riding of course.

Best conditioning
Been a looooonnnnggg time since we seen so much green on the course.
For years it seems like the fairways had more dirt than grass.
However yesterday it was green and plush all around giving the course much better playing conditions.
Much easier to hit a shot on 1/2” of lush grass than hard pan dirt.
If the greens could get rolled out and flattened a bit we would be doing awesome!!!
But since the last time we weee there maybe 4 months, the team has done Legendarily good work!!!

lpw hanging limbs
course is shaping up. Please trim the trees in the restroom area at the club house. I almost poked my eye out on those very low hanging limbs! Thank you

Over the last…
5 weeks, the greens have drastically improved…green #1 needs a couple more weeks of growing…but the other greens are in really good shape…some are almost perfect…we’ll definitely be back.

It’s always an enjoyment
when I’m able to play a round of golf with my college age son. Golf course is starting to look good. First green still has a ways to go, by far the worst green on the course, but fortunately the other greens are starting to come around, and some greens are in really good shape…fairways are in good shape…play smart and you’ll score good.

Good shape
Course looked and played well for the most part. One or two greens needed some work as did a couple tee boxes. Otherwise was good.

Everyone must have had
…a day off from work…the course was crowded….this is basically how our day went, the 18th hole had a group on the green, a group in the fairway and 3 groups lined up waiting to tee off…took 4 hrs 40 mins to play 18 holes and we were in carts, and no restrictions such cart path only..
And yes I said would recommend this course to a friend, why, usually it’s good pace of play…not sure what was going on today (Tuesday, May 30th)
