About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Good course great value
Sand traps are in need of attention. Everything else was good. Greens roll great. Fairways are good. Tee boxes show lots of play but are ok. Overall the staff is friendly and the course plays well.

Beautiful Greens
Played from the blue tee in NNW 20-30 mph wind so things were a little tougher. Course got some rain over the past month and the fairways are improving but the greens are beautiful and in great shape.

Fall golf
Nice weather and the course is in good shape. Brought along a couple friends, first time around for them. They enjoyed the day and expect they'll be returning. Good fun. If you've passed by stop in and have some fun.

Course is in good shape after the long hot summer. Greens are Soft and a bit slow. All the water has kept it green. Good fun!

Overall good course
Pretty simple course with lots of room on most of the holes to slice the driver. I did play the day after a big rain but you could tell the sand traps hadn’t been touched in months. They were like concrete with rocks in them. But other than that I enjoyed the course

The needs some upkeep
There are a few dangerous pot holes , of course it some rain , ball washers need repairs and restroom on course is dirty , water coolers don’t always have cold water

Great layout
Great layout. Shot makers course. Only negative bunkers need work. Not good or deep sand.

not worth $50
the fairway grass is pasture grass. the greens are slow and bumpy, some of them just plain soggy. the tee boxes are in poor condition. The driving range is unplayable except from mats and the practice green is horrible. the restaurant/bar is closed. I used to enjoy a quiet round at Legendary Oaks. it was never the best course around but man it is just disappointing now.

Tee boxes were a little hard, took some muscle to push the tee in sometimes. But the greens were great. Always have a great time here .

Stakes & Rope
Improvements are all over the place. Still need the Rope Off & Stakes in a few places. They were driving between the stakes when crossing the road from 16 to 17 Tees, so I moved the stake that was bent by a cart to the center.
-#5 Tees: Need Rope Off between the Blue & White Tee Box. Players are Driving carts right up the middle of fairway
-#4 Green: Really good Rope Off
-#11 Tees: Really good Stakes (It’s a shame that the stakes will most likely have to be a permanent fixture, due to these people continuing to ruin a good looking course).
-#13 Tees: Need many stakes just after Tee Boxed due to people driving straight up onto the fairway
-#15 Tees: Stakes needed on the Approach to Tee Boxes, left of the Blue Tees
It’s amazing, hard to believe that these people don’t care enough to try to improve the course. With the drought conditions upon us, their ruining the course may reflect quicker now.

Greens
The course is looking nicer every time I go play. The greens have been treated removing the weeds. Well mowed & being treated with herbicide. Really nice to play.

I've not seen a course in this bad shape, ever.
It trult appears that they have no greens keeper here at all. Just horrible conditions, i'll never play there again. I'm not a great golfer, but this was below even my standards...
