About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Good Value
You get to play for a great price. Are the fairways perfect,? No, but they are green and firm. Are the greens large and well manicured? No, they are small, slow and have some weeds, but they did roll pretty fair. The holes aren't moved and the edges are pretty rounded of and overgrown. So, expect a couple strokes lost on the greens and don't get frustrated about it. All that stuff is overshadowed because the office staff is friendly, the maintenance crew is courteous, and the price is a steal. I love coming out here because it is always quiet, laid back, and tougher than the distances would suggest.

No ice in coolers
The ice machine was broken that day. The course had coolers scattered around the coarse like most do. Unfortunately none of these had ice. The water was warm since it is June. Other than that, the course was fun.

Not great but not a waste of money
Lady’s tee boxes are horrible and sone greens aren’t the best. But you can see they are working to improve the course.

Enjoyed the game. Greens need work and have sand but it is a nice challenge. Great place to build up confidence as a beginner

Great condition
It would be nice to get some rain so the greens could be mowed a little more, otherwise perfect.

Good for a cheap country course
Only complaint is that they needed to have the greens cut. However the course was in alright shape overall. Obviously they had gotten rain as it was pretty wet in areas. Definitely worth the $25 I paid but not more than that IMO.

Golf Course abuse by patrons
There are several holes where new paths are being worn out on & around Tees & Greens both. Otherwise, it is looking really good.

Improved
Course showed vast improvement greens were playable but still need some time to get better These greens will never be imaculate but will get better. Fairways we're improved and overall course was surprisingly better Overall much improved and worth the golf now hot deal price. Still needs improvement to be a $40 dollar course tho. Will be back to check on the improvement...

Greens Need Work.
All in all me and my wife like to come here. Pace of play is good most times. Course could use some basic attention to the GREENS. Greens are mostly bad on ever Hole except 1 or 2 maybe and requires a 1 stroke deduction to keep it fair. I'll keep coming back.Im just venting.
