About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Great value for beginners and seniors
Most affordable course on 290! A great place to learn and not too crowded during the week. Senior days are Tuesday and Thursday ($20). As a beginner, this is perfect! And the course is definitely challenging when you are first learning. The staff is very helpful and friendly!
Course returned from February 2021 freeze
Although all tee boxes have grown up completely & the tee markers altered, all needs watering. There are many areas needing to be roped off. Patrons are not respecting the course and are damaging it all the while. The course Marshal can’t be at all needed locations; his next best friends are Stakes & Ropes. Areas needing attention are as follows:
-10 green to 11 tee, rope off
-13 tee, carts are running straight up fairway
-15 tee, driving out to tee
-16 green, patrons driving in next to green side bunker next to green, need ropes from bunker to sidewalk
-16 to 17 tee, patrons again not staying on cart path
-18 tee also, may put down a good base on path next to tees, roots there could start damaging carts front end???
A lot of good improvements since the February 2021 freeze.

Okay place to play
I’ve been here several times over the last two years and the course is getting better but still has some issues.
Play this course on a hit deal. More than 25-30 bucks it is t worth it.
Place seems to always be windy which I don’t mind but others I’ve taken seemed to mention it.
Gold ball dispenser at range wasn’t working properly. I was given 14 balls and when I asked for another token to try and double up I was given a rain check. I don’t think girl up front really understood that I would’ve liked more balls instead of a refund/rain check.
Will continue to go especially when my teenage son wants to play. He likes it.

Slow Pace
The course was very crowded for a Monday and slow, it took us about 5 hr 30 min to play the round. Greens are in bad shape making long putts next to impossible.

Impoved
Course was in an approved condition but bunkers were not playable on several holes .Green were ok and overall played well .

Improved course
Pace was a little slow but course was in decent shape. Greens are a little bumpy due to golfers not repairing divots properly. They are rolling at a decent speed.They are tight lies on the fairways and spotty patchs of no or little grass in some areas. Overall I would recommend this course. Mid handicappers can play from the blue tees and enjoy your round. Low single digit handicappers would have to play back tips to find it a good challenge. Most bunkers are not playable, Staff is always courtesy and nice.

Nice course
It depends on the time it is played ... there are times when the ball is not seen where it went and so you waste time searching and of course one less ball. the rest in general a 4 out of 5
