About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Staff is rude, golf carts die
Owner is a coward and wouldn’t even talk to me when I asked for money back. 2 carts died during one round and we didn’t get to finish as a result but nothing from the owner and he told me never to come back. This course is a DUMP and the owner and his staff are absolute cowards and idiots.

Okay
Typical rural course that needs improvement. The fairways and greens were not in great condition and were very thin. The layout is good but has narrow fairways.

Decent course/ had fun playing
The course isn’t top notch but it’s a cool laid back atmosphere. I didn’t have any issues with carts or bad service but a group was late to start and got in right before we did and it slowed the play down quite a bit. Once we got going it worked out fine. Plenty of room to hit your driver and not lose balls. Will play here again. Cant beat the price.

Disappointed
I am a member of this course but not for long. I grew up in Hempstead and I played golf for the first time at this course 30 years ago. I have watched it grow from a nine hole private club to a amazing 18 hole course when Lawrence Marshal bought it and unfortunately to the POS course it is currently. My wife and I had a 11:30 tee time yesterday( 11/20/20) and they were OUT OF CARTS. I was then told by the owner that it was the Members fault there were no more carts. Not giving this fool anymore of my money. He will not pay to maintain the course, it’s never mowed, the carts break down all the time and he will not hire enough people to have someone else bring a functioning cart to you. Great memories are just not enough to keep me going back.

An Up and Coming Facility
I’ve played here several times over the past couple of years. Each time I do, I notice that improvements are being made to the facilities as well as the course. As nearby courses have been forced to close recently, this one seems to be in a position to thrive in the coming years.

8-some? 5 hour round.
Two groups in front of us joined together to form an 8-some on the 6th hole and slowed up the entire course behind them. No marshal/ranger to be found until we finished the 15th hole. I mentioned this issue to the person in the shop at the turn but nothing.
Subsequently, we endured a 5 hour round.

Fun day at course .Got in between 2 outings but we knocked out 18 in 3 hours. Great value.

Love it!
I play Legendary Oaks regularly and it’s a great coarse for the money. Though it’s off of 290, there isn’t too much interference or interruption from the highway and is very well maintained for a good experience.
