Legendary Oaks Golf Course
About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Fall
Refreshed course, in really good shape. Great weather. Friendly staff. Looking forward to next visit.
Great transition. Was playing since before they first re did their greens and they are spectacular.
Getting better
They are finally improving the greens. Fairways have a lot of weeds.
Bathrooms are hideously awful. They need to have them cleaned once a week at least.
nice course, everything back
this course greens had problem early of this year and the summer due to the weather issue, but everything is back now. Still best price, very good layout.
Course is getting better
Went to visit legendary today 10/14, Overall a good course, you can see they are making an effort to get their course up to par to others.
Fairways were cut and easy to find your ball with actual grass, and the greens rolled well with a few brown patches on some holes but nothing to be mad about. Especially for a weekday rate is def not bad to get in 18. Will come back for another round.
Only thing I would comment on is the flag stick, it was a windy day so they were just leaning sideways instead of staying in their spot.
Getting a little better
The greens are getting better, They had no way to go except up, because there were absolutely awful before. So much so I stopped going there for a while. The grass was also mowed, which was a very big earlier. So it is getting better
Fun
For a little course what seemed out in the middle of nowhere, it was in good winter condition.
We were able to go off a little bit early on a Wednesday and great pace of play.
The course was challenging and enjoyable for the cost.
Course Complete
It has been awhile since playing here. It was good to see that a lot of places that were roped off have grown up & renewed itself. Also, great to see the greens have all taken shape. Hopefully it will stay this way. I really enjoyed myself.
looks like they've been improving. first time on the course. worth every bit of the $20 it cost.
Been alot better if the 16year Olds in front of me hadn't been treating the course like a play ground.
Took 1hr for me (alone) to play the front. 2.5 hrs to play the back. Playing hopscotch on the green, taking baseballs swings on the green. 6 balls off the tee. Wouldn't let me play through Very annoying.
My dumb self didn't think about skipping a hole until later.
Fun course
I read a lot of the previous reviews and people were talking about how the fairway wasn’t mowed and the greens weren’t rough condition but we didn’t have that issue. Most likely we got on after a fresh cut.
Poor condition
This course has gone downhill fast. The fairways were not mowed , they were in the same condition as the rough . Where the fairways had “grass”it was weeds and hard pan. The greens were atrocious, mostly bare or packed sand.
Overall the course is terrible. It isn’t worth a $10 fee.
Happy they’ve removed ALL TEMP GREENS!!!
Course is in much better shape, since my last round here around 4 months ago!!! Keep up the good work, please cut the fairway grass shorter.
Getting better
The course conditions have improved. The greens are green again with only 20 percent weeds. Much better than earlier this year when it was dirt and weeds.
Fairways are improving. Wet summer caused lots of grass and weeds in fairways. Many golfers have left.
I continue to play here because my golf ⛳ friends like the location.
I am encouraged that James and Kelly are improving the condition of the place. The new greens keeper is doing a nice job.
The course is in poor condition
Need to sell chap stick in the club house
improve tee boxes.
Lower green fees and cart fees.
I prob ly will not return how a while.
