Jersey Meadow Golf Course
About
Once home to one of the world's largest herds of Jersey dairy cattle, the site is now the Jersey Meadow Golf Course. The course has evolved and changed dramatically over the years, including a major renovation in 2004 that replaced all the greens with Bermuda grass. The layout is routed through groves of mature oaks, providing a secluded feel to most of the holes. The golf course has a classic design that is still a fair test even by modern standards. Water comes into play throughout in the form of ponds, lakes, and winding creeks that weave through the holes. The 14th is a particularly memorable water hole with a creek all along the left side leading to the island green. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and the greens have subtle but tricky contours.

Greens are a work in progress
The greens are in rough condition but they are feverishly work to rectify. There are three temp greens, but they are very upfront about it and gave a discount on regular price.
New club house is beautiful and would have been rated higher when fully completed. Staff is very accommodating and friendly.
When they get the greens recovered and the rest of construction done, it will be one of the finest courses for the money in Houston area.
Slowly improving
Greens need a ton of work but staff is trying. Starter not as friendly as the Marshall but no real complaints. Awesome layout just needs some TLC on the greens.
Unhappy Greens
Have played here before and same issue. Good course layout, poor conditions on the greens. Should have a few temporary greens at a minimum. Only palatable because because of special deal. I hope they can improve things on the greens.
Very bad greens
The fairways were in good condition but there was little to know grass on the greens.
Use for a practice course
I’ve been going to Jersey meadow for years. This is my first review and let me be loud and clear. The greens are absolutely hit garbage. You will feel like you’re putting from a sand trap some holes, concrete on other holes and regular grass here and there. I’m beyond disappointed that in all of these years they still can’t get their greens right. I’m no pro by any means but I know a nice course or even a decent course. It doesn’t take years to get some greens right. I’ll go back to check out the new clubhouse. But after I see that I’m done unless I need a practice round to work on everything but putting
All around TERRIBLE
If you want to feel like you got robbed of $65, get treated poorly by rude staff,, and play on the worst greens in Houston, then this is the place for you!! My friend vowed he would never come back here after being treated like a third class citizen. Greens are atrocious and 60% completely dead. There are way to many option in Houston to waste your money here. Just don’t do it. At least until they fix the greens.
READ THIS BEFORE YOU PLAY.. OR WASTE YOUR $
SAVE your money. I just played here and this was absolutely the worst golf course condition for greens I have ever seen. $65 and 80% of the greens are trashed. Boxes overgrown. I understand they’re doing renovations but the misleading part is they have no warning about the greens weather in the clubhouse or online. I asked to speak to the manager after my round and they sent me to his voicemail. Never heard back. Called again. Never heard back. It’s very deceptive that they don’t tell you about the conditions of the greens and still charges $65. Way too many courses in Houston to play that are in much better condition .
TRASH GREENS decently priced
For the price it’s really not bad but the greens are absolutely trash… even after having temp greens just last year the new greens are half dead. Fairways are decent though.
Very disappointed
Was made to share a cart with a stranger. Yet the gentleman behind me that of course looked different than myself was given single carts with a smile. I won’t be playing this course again. Side note. I had no problem paying for a rider but not another golfer’s price. Wasn’t an option.
Needs Work
Course played at good pace but is very close. My pairing got hit by a ball from the other tee while we were on the fairway. Course also needed better upkeep as most of the greens were dead/patchy and fairways had dead spots all over. Course had potential but not worth what they are charging per round currently.
Unfriendly
This is absolutely the worst managed golf course I have ever been too in the world, and believe me I have played a few around the world including the Royal and Ancient. They are doing construction, so there is no way to go to the designated address on a GPS and get to the clubhouse. I arrived at the designated GPS address 25 minutes prior to my T-Time, there is a bridge across a creek that has an orange safety net on it. No access from here. No directions or instructions on how to get to the primary parking lot which is the size of a postage stamp. By the time I could get to this parking lot, determine what I should do to get my clubs and other paraphernalia into a cart it was past my Tee Time. I was informed by the Starter that I had to go to the Green to catch those I was assigned to play with, I told him I wanted to Tee Off, he told me NO, emphatically. I told him it want my fault I couldnt get to the parking lot and be ready to Tee Off when I would have been if directions were given in the first place. I went to the pro shop and cancelled my game asking for a refund. I dont believe I shall return to this course.
One of the Marshalls decided to tell our group we were playing too slow. Even though they had a group of 10 guys that were split into a group of 6 and a group of 4 in front of us. They all played extremely slow, all day. The were driving carts on all of the Par 3’s. There were a number of times where we would have to sit and wait 10-15 minutes for them to take the next shot. We were on the course for a little under 5 hours and we didn’t get to finish the round due to weather and slow play. Extremely disappointed with today
Some green struggling
I enjoyed the layout of the course. The Fairways were in great shape. The greens on the first few holes are in pretty bad shape. After that there were a couple greens in bad shape, but holes were placed in better areas on those greens. I played with two other guys, and we played in three hours. Overall fun day of golf! I am hopeful the greens will come back soon because the course is fun to play.
Hard ground … and over a year with NO green repairs… it’s a nice track, but definitely needs some work. … price is good for now , but if they raise it just for the new “CLUBHOUSE” … won’t be worth it
Nice layout, great deal, terrible greens
Good value but the greens were not good at all. Would not play for more than $20
Improving
The work continues on off course and on the course. Most of the greens seem to be getting better, still some work to do but certainly getting better
