Jersey Meadow Golf Course
About
Once home to one of the world's largest herds of Jersey dairy cattle, the site is now the Jersey Meadow Golf Course. The course has evolved and changed dramatically over the years, including a major renovation in 2004 that replaced all the greens with Bermuda grass. The layout is routed through groves of mature oaks, providing a secluded feel to most of the holes. The golf course has a classic design that is still a fair test even by modern standards. Water comes into play throughout in the form of ponds, lakes, and winding creeks that weave through the holes. The 14th is a particularly memorable water hole with a creek all along the left side leading to the island green. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and the greens have subtle but tricky contours.

Unfriendly
This is absolutely the worst managed golf course I have ever been too in the world, and believe me I have played a few around the world including the Royal and Ancient. They are doing construction, so there is no way to go to the designated address on a GPS and get to the clubhouse. I arrived at the designated GPS address 25 minutes prior to my T-Time, there is a bridge across a creek that has an orange safety net on it. No access from here. No directions or instructions on how to get to the primary parking lot which is the size of a postage stamp. By the time I could get to this parking lot, determine what I should do to get my clubs and other paraphernalia into a cart it was past my Tee Time. I was informed by the Starter that I had to go to the Green to catch those I was assigned to play with, I told him I wanted to Tee Off, he told me NO, emphatically. I told him it want my fault I couldnt get to the parking lot and be ready to Tee Off when I would have been if directions were given in the first place. I went to the pro shop and cancelled my game asking for a refund. I dont believe I shall return to this course.
One of the Marshalls decided to tell our group we were playing too slow. Even though they had a group of 10 guys that were split into a group of 6 and a group of 4 in front of us. They all played extremely slow, all day. The were driving carts on all of the Par 3’s. There were a number of times where we would have to sit and wait 10-15 minutes for them to take the next shot. We were on the course for a little under 5 hours and we didn’t get to finish the round due to weather and slow play. Extremely disappointed with today
Some green struggling
I enjoyed the layout of the course. The Fairways were in great shape. The greens on the first few holes are in pretty bad shape. After that there were a couple greens in bad shape, but holes were placed in better areas on those greens. I played with two other guys, and we played in three hours. Overall fun day of golf! I am hopeful the greens will come back soon because the course is fun to play.
Hard ground … and over a year with NO green repairs… it’s a nice track, but definitely needs some work. … price is good for now , but if they raise it just for the new “CLUBHOUSE” … won’t be worth it
Nice layout, great deal, terrible greens
Good value but the greens were not good at all. Would not play for more than $20
Improving
The work continues on off course and on the course. Most of the greens seem to be getting better, still some work to do but certainly getting better
Staff
The staff in the clubhouse were amazing went above and beyond to get everything done for us
One of my go to courses in Houston
Jersey Meadow has been a staple in my rotation for the past year. The club house is still under renovation, so it lacks a full menu at the turn currently.
Of the dozen or so times I’ve been there. I’ve only hit off the grass on the range once. So be prepared for hitting off a mat to warm up. The practice green is was in rough shape this time around.
Overall the course is moderately challenging (3.5/5) and several holes drive you to focus on course management. The greens are hit and miss. This time around they were inconsistent and in repair (3.2/5).
This is a beginner friendly course and I have played with several friends who are just getting into golf there. Another plus is there is an excellent brewery down the road (Senate Ave. Brewery).
I can’t wait to see the course when the club house is done and hoping this year the green conditions improve. I will undoubtedly play here again.
It’s winter and we have had a lot of rain but clearly course money is going to the new club house and not to the greens. I have no hope this course will be in good shape by spring
Overall bad
-Marshall Mike. Bad attitude and rushing us to 1st tee box to drive when group ahead of us barely going to there second shot.
-we were 3mins behind bc we were waiting for a cart.
-greens were terrible, probably one of the worse greens I’ve ever payed
- pace of play was bad, no marshall in site to manage it.
- no cart person what so ever to get snacks and drinks.
