This course has the one of friendliest staffs in houston. Great value as well.

Played here about dozen times...greens in good shape, fairways same, starting to get dry due to no rain. Bunkers are hit & miss. A challenging course thats close by and thats a plus.

Started playing here last October. Since then the course has had a lot maintenance work done on the green and sand traps. The maintenance staff start here way before sunrise and I still see them here late in the evening. The staff golf pro's work well with the people, lessons are reasonable and the kids programs here are well worth the money and time for the kids to learn how to play. The kitchen staff are friendly and are always ready to serve up some good hot food. The water jugs around the golf course always have iced water and cups, which is a God send during this summer heat. I play mostly in the early mornings have gone around in just over 2 hours, but watch out for the 9:00 AM morning ladies groups, which can take up to 20 minutes per hole. The men's group which have tournaments here are a great way to meet and have fun with well over 100+ golfers. I tend to stay away from the crowds and enjoy playing with others who enjoy a faster round of golf. Having water on 12 of the holes make for a challenging round of golf when the wind is blowing, but the 1st hole which is an easy par 5 allows everyone the opportunity to warm up and start the day right. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best time to play if you like a round of golf in less than 4 hours. The Starter and Marshalls work well to keep the pace of play moving. These guys are great and I have never seen a more friendly bunch of guys. Since I started playing again after 10 years of hanging up the clubs, I have been able to drop my score down from the 100's to now into the 70's. Once you get a hang of this course, it is fun to play and can challenge even the best of golfers, but it allows room for the rest of us to have fun and improve.. I would highly recommend this course if you are in the area. Just be aware that the management has spent a lot of time, effort, and money bringing this course back to life. If you have read negative reviews, the majority has to do with work on the course to bring it up to speed. At times, there has been sand on the green, they leveled out the tee boxes, grass was dead in some areas, but in the past six months, I have seen this course change into one of the best city courses around. To bad I am moving, otherwise I would still play this course weekly.

PLAYED THIS COURSE 3 WKS AGO AND IT WAS IN A LOT BETTER SHAPE. TODAY, EVERY FAIRWAY WAS LIKE HARDPAN. GREENS WERE A LITTLE SLOW BUT ROLLED GOOD.

very hot day, we played the back 9 twice as they had a tournament late in the day that they did not tell us about. couldnt beat the price 18$ with a cart. greens were good all in all it was a pleasant day. people working there were very nice

Great value, this coarse plays well for all styles. Recommend playing at least 2-3 days after a good Houston rain cause they won't cut the rough for an extra challenge.

Played during the week with a Hot Deal for $12. Well worth the price. Course in pretty good shape.m

Forced to play in groups of 4. Won't be allowed to play in a group of 2 even though that's what you pay for. Completely crowded with pairs of 4 taking forever to play. Poor course conditions. Only positive was friendly service but will not be coming back to play this course

It's very nice for the most golfer green and fairway are excellent but need improve tee box...

From my 50 years golf experience, this course gives you lots of bang for your buck. It's well maintained, all sand bunkers were smooth and soft if you happened to hit w wayward shot. Greens were firm but watered smartly to hold and rolled true. More challenging than it looks with undulating slopes and depth perception. Plenty of water coolers between holes to stay hydrated in Texas heat. But look out in hazards for snakes looking for a meal wistfully coiled and looking at you with fangs. I'm looking forward to my next outing with anticipation, especially with great deals offered.

This course is an old course but is a challenge for any golfer. A lot of improvements recently, in the Pro Shop, now selling grips with free installation. Fairways and greens are improving. I like the driving range, they now have a warm up basket of balls for only $3.00. They have improved the Pro Shop with a better variety of clubs and apparel. Played in less than 4 hours.

This is the first time I visited the JM course and I am a very JR golfer but I do know how to swing a club. For $24, figured I'd give it a try. Would have rather spent that on beer in a pub some where. The staff were VERY friendly so no digs on them at all. The course, different story. Fairways are way too close together. Many times we found ourselves not only waiting for the 3 or 4 groups in front of us but also waiting on people who couldn't keep their ball on their fairways and were playing from ours. We found ourselves waiting on one Tee shot for almost 30 minutes while the other groups in front played their rounds. Greens were horrible in my opinion. At one point I remember being on a green, I think it was hole 8 where the slope from left to right was not less than 30° downhill but likely more. Ball hit to green in one and sat right there, never budged about 10ft uphill from the flag. Tried to putt in, yeah that didn't work either as ball wouldn't roll. Most greens were like this in not rolling worth a darn. All in all, not a good experience and will likely never go back.
