About

Derrell Witt had a hand in many of Carlton Gipson's successes, including Houston-area tracks like Greatwood, and the impressive renovations at BraeBurn Country Club. Pine Crest was his first solo project, and he was able to use his background in landscape architecture to move over 250,000 cubic feet of dirt tocreate 13 lakes that form the basis of this semi-private course. The water helps the crew keep it in lush condition compared to other courses in the area.
The best hole is the last one, playing 571 yards into a narrow, tree-lined fairway with an approach over water to the green.

It's simply o.k.
For the money you pay, you get what you pay for. Greens are in rough shape. Driving range is not great. Not sure I would play here again.
Pine Crest....
This course has great potential to be a really nice place to play, since its trees have matured and define the holes wonderfully....however, the greens could be better and the traps are pitiful....the tee boxes are fine, as well as the fairways, although they use some watering....while there are openings between traps to the front of most of the four and five par greens, the area ten to fifteen yards short of them is the runoff area for the greens making that patch of ground soggy....therefore, you've got to fly every shot onto the green which takes away the shot that can be short and run up on the putting surface....makes play a bit tougher for most golfers.
Pine Crest has a friendly staff and great potential to be a premier course.
Pine Crest course needs attention in the following areas:
1. Always crowded with a few minutes wait for at least 9 holes. Not sure if it is because members jump on whenever they like but it's rediculous in prime times.
2. Greens are cut very low almost like cement with gravel thrown on top, not smooth at all.
3. Many bare spots, trash in and around all water hazards, bunkers need fresh sand.
I am sure I will play there again but in my opinion, $40 is entirely too much to pay for this type of course.
This course has lots of water hazzads, not easy to play
Pine Crest is a good course (in value) to play. It is not faraway from my living home. The fee is not expensive, and the course condition is ok,
This course has nice layout
Pine Crest great course for value. I enjoyed the layout, water comes into play. So being able to place shots and see hazards are important. Having GPS, would be helpful.... Great course
A Nice Place To Play
This was my first time playing at Pine Crest. The weather was perfect. The greens were fast and have a lot of break, which is the reason I labeled the course as challenging. I will definitely be playing here again.
Greens are in good shape, but Fairways are hard like concrete...
Greens are well taken care of and in good condition. Fairways are so dry and hard like concrete.
Pine Crest Review
The course was in much better condition than when I played it a year or so ago, I played on a Tuesday and the course was moderately busy so the starter had me go off the back nine first. He didn't tell me that there would be a regular group of 3 foursomes going when I made the turn and I was stuck behind them the whole nine - very slow. Otherwise a fun round.
Great Course
My wife and I played this course, and I have to say it was a great experience. The course was well maintained, not over crowded, and moderately difficult which was perfect for us. The staff were extremely friendly, and I can't wait until my return trip.
GREAT VALUE & CONDITION NOW.
THE FAIRWAYS AND GREENS WERE THE BEST I HAVE SEEN AT PINECREST IN YEARS. THERE ARE JUST ENOUGH TREES AND WATER TO RUIN YOUR SCORE AND KEEP YOU HONEST. ENJOY WHILE COURSE IS IN GREAT SHAPE.
Good test of skills for the average player. Greens are fast.
Good value for money. Overall conditions are good. Some maintenance on weed abatement needs to happen however.
to tight
THe narrow fairway on 2 busy streets. Allways busy. They group of 5 or more together.
Average
Average course. Good price and location. Gets a little backed up. Greens are in okay shape as are the fairways.
