Irving Golf Club
About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

A Must Play Muni
This is a fun, wide open, well conditioned course that was a lot of fun to play. Elevation changes, brush and just a few water obstacles provide the challenge. Greens are good and tricky. Carts have GPS. Practice facilities include several putting greens and a full size driving range off the grass or mats. Staff were friendly and I paired up with another guy who made the day a blast. Relax with some food and grab a seat in the rocking chairs.
Overpriced, Obstinate Staff, No Etiquette
Awful course conditions, several areas entirely unplayable due to giant holes dug up in fairways and around greens. Greens are so fast you might as well just pick up and go. No one on the course including the employees had any idea about golf etiquette. Sickening to pay money for such a poorly run course.
A Muni Must
Course is in very good shape. Tee boxes could use a little work - but fairways had plenty of grass and greens were excellent - but quite tricky. This course is wide open and forgiving, but not without the occasional challenge. There are a couple water carries and several strategically placed bunkers. There are also several elevation changes which make for some great views - minus the notorious power lines. I played as a pair - and we finished well before four hours. Employees were pleasant. Carts had GPS - but they cut out on you when you went somewhere off course - that’s annoying. All in all a really good time on a really good course.
Always a great time
Love this course every time I’ve played it. Friendly staff, great view of Downtown Dallas on hole 10 and just overall great course.
Course is good
I enjoy playing this course and it's in decent shape. The greens still need a little work but otherwise it's as expected for this time of year. The older gentleman in the clubhouse was not very cordial, actually kind of a jerk. Twice.
Crisp Sunny Day
Not my first time playing here. Play here primarly because it is close to the airport to fly out later in the day. Tee box, fairway all in very good codition. Greens as good as expected for late March ( firm). Very few divots left unfixed. ( loved that) . Sand traps need to be groomed. Todays play was Cart Path only, the GPS system in the cart will let you know if you deviate by shutting down the golf cart. Very Freindly staff, plus there was a lot of crews working to get the irrgation system up and running.in a few holes. Pace of play was slow at times. Just the luck of the draw on the various combo of players out this day. Most of the time I fly through the course in under 4 hours. Nice fair layout, still a fan of the old Twin Wells Course before this one was redone and renamed However, it looks very much like the staff is committed to keeping this course in good shape. I say that because in the last two weeks , I have played three other courses that allowed 90 degree rule and their fairways were softer and wetter than the Irving Golf Course. Thank you for forcing me to burn a few extra calories on this crisp and windly day. I had fun today.
Great Shape
In spite of all of the rain that we had in the past few days, the course was in great shape. Greens were excellent.
Irving Golf Course
Great muni course. Not overly crowded. Had to adjust to TX wind…lol. Fun day with my daughter thanks
Mixed review
Course was in good overall condition. Greens were quick and in good shape. Fairways were acceptable, but had some bare spots.
Pace of play was slow, as it took 4hrs and 35 minutes to play during the middle of week. Computers were down so could not get food or drinks without cash.
Good track, a little slow
it's in good condition for this time of year. Not too long, not too short.
