About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Please hire a new starter
The starters are just terrible. Specifically, the heavyset fellow working on Sunday is just the most miserable person I’ve ever encountered. He’s rude and has an attitude for no reason. It doesn’t matter how polite you are to him. I, along with the people I’ve been paired with, have all had the same experiences with him. What a way to start a round…
Good Golf Course
Had a good time playing Cinco Ranch. Course was in good shape and I like the lay out. The weather even cooperated.

Pace of play, price, and staff
So first off the pace of play was horrible the day I was there it was just two sums and solos I was a solo cause it was cold out guess no one showed up. But I had a two sum in front of me that wouldn’t let me pass till the back nine and that’s just cause they stopped at the club house was waiting 5-10 min on every tee box and I was playing two balls. Then again another two sum two holes later same thing the rest of the holes and I was meeting them on every tee box. Second Price is outrageous for the 18 holes and for food and drinks compared to other courses please explain to me why your in the hundreds and don’t have a gps/range finder on carts. Having better sand and faster greens isn’t worth the price. I can pay half the price if not 3 times less than the price to play Greatwood cypress lakes etc. for good course plus range finder/gps on carts and pure rolling greens yeah they might not have great bunkers or super fast greens but you can’t beat the price for the course, food and beverages. Staff: they were not very welcoming as well as the starter. If you asked me seemed like they were mad they were even there that day which I got the hint of hard to explain in writing. An or that I even showed up that day just wasn’t very welcoming to me just the vibe I got. I will not be coming back there is just as good courses all around Houston for better prices and better staff.

Pace a play
Great condition despite all the recent rain but the pace of play was awful. No marshall having 3 teams at a tee box for the entire back 9 was a nightmare. Not worth $100+ if it’s going to take 5-1/2 hours to play on a Monday morning.

Awesome course
This course has everything. Challenging holes. Greens have many contours. Forgiving fairways. You can get in trouble real quick. Tee boxes need a little work but it is winter. Pace of play was good. All in all would highly recommend.

Cinco is top of the list
Mid afternoon tee time. Just enough time to finish 17, December golf. Pace was good. Course good condition. Bev cart girl was oh so nice. When out as a two-some, a single joined us. He was congenial.

Tees in bad shape fairway and green in decent condition
Very good drink car service there were 3 out in the course , the best I have seen
