About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Tees in bad shape fairway and green in decent condition
Very good drink car service there were 3 out in the course , the best I have seen

What a circus
The pace of play was horrible. Tee boxes were stacked with 2 groups by the back 9. People not playing ready golf, people taking videos and screwing around, etc. There was a group letting their young kids (around 9-10 y/o) drive the cart. One of the kids even slammed the cart head on into a tree at full speed with the father in the cart. It was an absolute circus.

Very nice course
I enjoyed my round at Cinco Ranch.
The tee boxes were a little weedy, but the rest of the course was in very nice shape. A number of the bunkers were being rebuilt, and one par-4 had its hole about 190 yards from the tees due to construction around the green.
The course was challenging, but not too much so.

Good condition
Greens and fairways good, a few tee boxes were dried out needing water. Pace of play was good for a Friday.

Great Day
Course conditions were surprisingly good. Pace of play was slow because the rough was at least ball height, which slowed play while finding balls. Overall a great time!

Fun course and reasonable at GN “hot deal”
Course was in good condition although ALL the traps had no sand and were being rebuilt. Greens were in good shape, tees were mostly all green, and fairways were in great soft shape. After playing we wanted to get a beer and the bar was not open (at only 6:30p!). Carts were in good shape, relatively new.

Course in excellent shape…
Our experience was great. It looks like they are reclaiming all the sand bunkers. There was base put down. We just took our balls out of the ones that didn’t bounce out. The greens were in excellent shape, fairways were all green, just an overall great golf day. We weren’t pushed and we didn’t push anyone. I was afraid of that because they usually book pretty full. We teed off at 1:50 and had a great round.
