Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Good course, slow play.
Good course slow play. I would still recommend it for play but just be ready for a long round.
Summer Fun
Course was in excellent condition, not too crowded during the weekday and a good place to take the beginner golfer.
Afternoon player
Excellent value for the money on Thursday.
There was sand on the green but they still ran very good
Good Course
As a resident of Cinco area the GC is our go-to course. In excellent condition and greens/bunkers are well maintained.
Pace of play is a continual problem, especially at the weekends. Two ball in front of us was so slow it really impacted the enjoyment of the game. No course steward out on course to hurry people along, just a video played in cart. Nice idea but not as forceful as a person!
Lady in drinks cart was awesome but it was a super hot day and she was working whole course alone - needed another drinks cart out there to keep folk hydrated.
Only play using the Golf Now discount - standard rate is too high for this course.
Great condition!
After a week of heavy down pours the course held up very well. It had rained all morning prior to us playing in the afternoon. The course drained and dried excellent.
The course itself was fun to play. Nice, long, open fairways and good greens. Some tricky holes. You will use a good mix of clubs. I will definitely be back to play again.
Play golf
The course is in great shape, but price is to high on the weekend.
Since Ranch Golf Club
Very nice greens in great shape and the fairways were in good condition I loved it
This course is great for the average (and above) golfer
I've lived on this course for twenty years and after the renovations I have never played this course the same twice. I played on a beautiful day after rain so condition were excellent. Pace was perfect, but then again I scored a t-time at 3 on a Monday so go figure. All in all great course but if you don't catch a great deal on golf now it might get a little pricy. I recommend it.
Good Community course
Cinco Ranch is a very nicely designed course. The course was in fairly good condition. The greens could have been better but I think they had just fertilized or sanded them recently which is just part of course maintenance so you can't hold that against the course. While the clubhouse is fairly dated, it's still very nice inside. All in all this course is a pleasure to play. I will be playing again and would recommend it to others.
Nice layout; average greens
The marshals at this course kept me away for 5 years. I thought it was time to give it another shot. Since it was a weekday, the pace of play was very quick, so I cannot comment on the marshals' attitudes this time around. The greens were average to below average and not in par with the overall course conditions.
Great course
Well the Marshall's could have been a little better. I mean we had two golfer's with us who took their time over every shot. But we were still within the 15 minutes per hole other than the par 3's. And the group behind us was really holding up everyone behind them. But the Marshall parked behind us on the last 4 holes in plain sight as we tried to play the last few holes. Felt as I was in a prison yard with the guards watching but other than that 5 stars.
Fun Course
Course was a little soft due recent rains and greens were a little scared from winter play. Overall a very nice facility and very friendly staff all around. Would definitely play this course again.
Cool Range
I liked the double ended range.
The bunkers at Cinco Ranch were outstanding. The GPS on the carts was the best I've ever used, but other than that everything was just solid. I'm not a proponent of courses that feel like they are sandwiched between houses. The playing conditions were good, greens rolled fair enough. Some had a great deal of undulation and break. The layout itself seemed fairly easy. The wind was up the day I played with gusts around 30 MPH and I felt like I was picking the place apart.
I may have missed them, but there were no bathrooms out on the back 9.
Overall, I gave it a shot because of people raving about it. I wouldn't drive across town for it again, and I believe there are better courses and/or better values across the Houston area.
Rain? What rain?
Enjoyed the round more than I thought I would. Heavy rains the previous two days should have made the course messy, but drainage is obviously excellent and those playing in the breezy and cold weather were able to ride carts at 90 degrees.
One criticism...it appears that almost no one bothers to repair ball marks on greens-- including the maintenance crew. A course of this quality should not have that problem.
Coarse was in great shape
Good conditions and not over crowded as it usually is. Can't understand why the starter paired us with another twosome when there was no one else there. We split up on our own.
Slow
I arrived the GC on time but was told I have to wait 30-45 min. Si I could not finish the 18 holes It was dark at 14th. It's a nice GC but too many there waiting.
Better than some private courses
I made my first eagle from 157 yards at the 410 yard hole no.13. This was my third round at Cinco and except for the prices, it is a well maintained course. Will add this course to my annual schedule.
owesome
very nice course, well maintained,, freindly staff,,,
Great shape
Played during the week mid afternoon. played in 3 hrs 15 mins. Greens rolled suberbly
long with fast greens
Great lay out and one has to hit into the right location or easily lose some strokes off your score.

We are always on top of our pace of play and monitor it via GPS in our pro shop, that particular day you played we had an event that was slow and caused a back up.
Look forward to having you back soon.
