Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Re: great course
I often play here once a week and compared to most courses in Houston this one you get your money worth !! Excellent greens all though the putting greens can be pressed down a bit but over all great course friendly staff .
Coming along nicely
Fairways nice and coming back nicely from winter.
The greens a little bumpy but again, will be nice and fast in a couple of weeks .
I cant wait till the traps are finished. They were more like sludge land fills, but looks like that problem has been addressed and is being taken care of.
Great relaxing feeling. Only wish was able to get on as a single and play alone, but everyone will want to play on this course so that may not be an option.
Good course
Very slow took over 3 hrs to play 9 holes. The golf course however is great greens are fast.
Not Worth It
I have played Cinco at least 25 times. Over the past couple of years, I have seen it decline. The greens were rough. The bunkers are not draining...they were muddy. A couple of the green were under construction, yet there was no mention prior to booking. The golf carts have been having problems... weak batteries that either make them go slow, or they simple die. Over the past month, I have had 2 carts die. They are often overbooked...and my teetime slips. Today, there was absolutely no food, except hotdogs (uggg)...and the onions and relish were empty. I have had enough. No more.
Upgrades make a difference
New upgraded touch screen GPS in the carts are awesome. You know how to avoid hazards if you haven't played there before. Greens are more consistent and in good shape. Some minor construction going on but overall course is in great shape. Had a very slow foursome in front of us and they added almost an entire hour to our round.
Texas Hospitality
I have been playing this course when visiting family for over a decade. They always do a great job making me feel welcome. Greens were on great shape. Look forward to my next round.
$$$
Good track but not worth $70. It's more of a $40 type of course. At least in march when it's not green and the greens aren't rolling yet.
Good time
My father and I played this course for the first time. Everyone was courteous except for one Marshall and the pace of play was a little slow even though we're not ones to look for our balls- we typically play best ball or shoot from the fair away to make sure we're not behind.
Decided to only play 9 holes after a Marshall moved our cart and yelled at us for putting 2 tires off the cart path on a 'cart path only' par 3. We 're definitely ones to follow the rules (not scoring rules), but it just left a sour taste to us. I live in the Katy area and won't go back. GPS feature is neat in the carts. Great price for a pretty average course. I'll spend a little more for less babysitting next time.
Great course, loved by Geordies
Played as part of a fourball. Lovely course, some cracking holes. Really enjoyed it. We will be back to take more money off William's boys, who we were playing against. Excellent
Love this course
I really like this course. They do a good job keeping it on pace.
Good Course, but not for $72
This is a good course, some nice holes. but definetly not worth paying $72. this course is more like a $35 to $45 dollar range. NO WAY THIS COURSE SHOULD BE CHARGING ABOVE 50! i would recommend this course but not when green fees are that high. $30 green fees for 5:00 pm tee time. dont think so.
Great Course
Loved the GPS in cart, and the availability of knowing where the players are ahead of you on the blind holes.
Pleasant Day
Golfing at Cinco Ranch golf course was good. The greens and tee's were in great shape as well as many fairways. The only issue we had was that the snack bar didn't have enough turkey sandwiches!! But the concession stand girl was very nice and apologetic.
GOOD DAY FOR GOLF
WE PLAYED MIDAFTERNOON. COURSE WAS NOT CROWDED BECAUSE WEATHER WAS COLD. FAIRWAYS WERE IN GOOD SHAPE, AS WAS THE GREENS.
Course is in good condition
Ground is soft due to the rain, greens are thicker than usual.
Nice course overall
Can get a little crowded on the weekends, but great setup with some challenging holes. A well maintained course with a great range.
Great course....
As a beginner Cinco Ranch is a great course to play. The staff is very friendly.
Great standard as ever!
Not the most challenging course but well maintained and great value. GPS carts are a bonus and greens were in good shape.
