About
Jay Riviere built this course in the 1970s to offer a non-military alternative for golf in Killeen. The conditions have improved since the updated irrigation system was installed in the 1990s, and the greens are known for consistently being in solid condition. The course has been renovated in 2005 by Lee Singletary. You’ll face a good combination of tee shots at this course, with both narrow and wide fairways.
Start off with some patience, if you can survive the more difficult front nine, you’ll be confident and in good position for a low round when you face the easier back nine.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take Hwy. 190 west and exit FM 2410. Turn right and look for Roy Reynolds Dr. Turn right again and look for the course on the left side of the road.

Stonetree Review
Best golf money can buy. I am a regular here. Main reason is it is close proximity to my house. I play often because i appreciate the great customer service they provide. If you are looking for a great getaway under the sun, give this course a try. I can promise you it will be a great experience for anybody.

Dirt greens
90% of greens are burnt/completely gone. Would’ve liked that knowledge before I paid. 100% unacceptable to not inrom patrons that the course is in such terrible conditions. Played in early May and it was decent, now borderline unplayable.

Get it together
Most fairways were terrible, never seen this course in this type of shape before. Should reduce price until they get it back together.

How Times Have Changed
The Billy Casper Group has taken over this course since last summer. The personnel at the check in desk are second to no one. It is ashame they have to take so much money from golfers to play on this course. I have been playing on this course since 1999 and it has never been in as bad of shape as it is in right now. The course attempts to justify the condition of the course by posting a sign at the entrance stating they are seeding and doing other things to the course. None of it justifies the course being in as bad of shape as it is in. Also, there are NO grounds crew seen anywhere at about 7:30 a.m.
I have enclosed a picture of one of the fairways and I will tell you they all look like this. We are not hitting off of grass when in the middle of the fairway. We are hitting off of hard dirt ground. There is nothing good to say about the condition of this course. It is not worth the $47 weekend green fee with cart.

Truth and Expectations are important!
Stonetree requires some time before it turns into the course that so many reviews prior to mine have lauded over. The tee box, fairways and greens are not worth the money charged for 18 and a cart during the prime morning hours of play. The twilight fee for 18holes and a cart is around $21.50. Certainly well worth the price considering the courses current condition.
I expect, as the season moves forward, that Stonetree will become a very nice course to play. Patience is key as the course needs lots of rain to improve its current hard-pan situation.

Beautiful Course
This is an amazing course and love to play every time I'm in town. Layout is awesome and it is provides a challenge to every golfer. Greens were in perfect shape and the tee boxes have just been re seeded and look wonderful... I would recommend to anyone looking for a great day!

Nice course for Central Texas
However for a $46 tee time, there should be more amenities. Nearby courses offer better deals for group buys, season passes and will offer free lunch after 18 holes. The course it’s self is not bad, however you can have similar play again at nearby courses for less and get more.

Great Course and Great Value
First time playing this course and i was very pleased. The condition was awesome for being in the middle of January. Fairly open course with the wind causing some additional challenge. Greens were meticulous.

I play this course a lot, but this past weekend really struck my nerve! I was golfing on 14 noticed there was a group of three ladies walking the cart path!! At first I did not care about it but when I tee off on 15 on left side fairway I see my ball land and I see the lady pick it up!!!!! The same three ladies! Carrying a bag full of balls too. I was very upset!!!
