About
Jay Riviere built this course in the 1970s to offer a non-military alternative for golf in Killeen. The conditions have improved since the updated irrigation system was installed in the 1990s, and the greens are known for consistently being in solid condition. The course has been renovated in 2005 by Lee Singletary. You’ll face a good combination of tee shots at this course, with both narrow and wide fairways.
Start off with some patience, if you can survive the more difficult front nine, you’ll be confident and in good position for a low round when you face the easier back nine.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take Hwy. 190 west and exit FM 2410. Turn right and look for Roy Reynolds Dr. Turn right again and look for the course on the left side of the road.

Golfer Reviews
Superb Public Course
This is a great public course and is usually in excellent condition. This is our favorite course: good layout, good condition, greens usually excellent.
The greens were aerated around 2 weeks ago, thus were still healing, but still rolled well.
It's just a really good course. Go. Play.
GREAT COURSE
GREAT CONDITIONS, WEATHER WAS GOD SENT, BEAUTIFUL LAYOUT AND FEATURES
Challenging track
Course was in great shape! Fairways were very nice and the greens were a little hard but rolled nicely. Very challenging from the gold or blue tees. Recommended for the big hitters but the white tees are very nice for the average players. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for a great track.
Typical muni
The layout has you close to roads on several holes. Holes 10 & 11 are nuts... also the 100 yard posts look just like the 150 posts so check your yardage. Hole number 18 had a rank odor that will make you gag.
Course is in great shape. Great course for the average golfer
Nice
Especially in the brutal TX summers. StoneTree is well kept.
Great course
The course is well maintained. The fairways were in great shape and the putting surface was fast and firm. The speed of play was nice and they allow a couple to tee off without sticking us with a couple of strangers.
Local knowledge a key
I did not give this course a five do to the staff in the pro shop. I showed up early to see if I could be teamed up with a group that has played the course to get local knowledge. I was told that there was no one available to team up with. Ok no problem but when you allow groups up to five go out and here I am a two some and the next group behind us was a threesome that has played the course I say com on man. They did not bother to take the time and ask what a shame was a great course would have enjoyed it better with local knowledge. I am going to play again because it was a well maintained course and now I know where most of the trouble is.
Great layout
Some of the nicest fairways in central Texas. Ball sits up perfectly for maximum shot capabiities. Greens are large and roll true. Variety of holes that require proper club selection and positioning. An absolute value for the price and would recommend this course to all my friends
30 MPH Winds!!
Fairways are plush with over-seeded rye grass. If you hit it in the fairway the lies are great. Greens are really good. Recently raised rates by their city council resulted in what I believe to be overpriced golf and I understand locals are occasionally opting to go elsewhere. $48 a round including cart on weekends, Range balls not included...that's another $5. They are reworking the sand traps and a few are unplayable. Overall its a nice design with a great risk/reward hole at number 18. Great staff and new food at the snack bar!!
Not Bad!
Was pleasantly surprised by the course layout and challenges. A little tight on a few holes, but overall fun track. Only knock were the greens - very bouncy!
Great Course
This is a great place to play. The fairway were green and lush. The greens were fast but in pretty good shape. Will be back many times.
Great course
Just moved to the area- Sun City Georgetown. A little tired of trying to get teetimes at Sun City courses for the value. Booked Stonetree on Golf Now - wow! Stonetree was above our expectations! The course was in excellent condition. About a 35 minute drive but so worth it. Will definitely be going back to play this course. There is not a grill so you need to bring an ice chest/ snacks if you need during your round!
Not bad
It is beginning of march so I don't expect much. Fairways and tee boxes were very nice. Greens still weren't alive yet. Rough and area outside of fairway still not alive yet. Pace of play was good. Starter was miserable and didn't help at all. Dude is just collecting a pay check. Course lay out is pretty cool. There is a couple of risk reward holes. Would like to play again when grass is green. Get rid of that starter. Please add somewhere to get a hot dog or something. Chips aren't enough
The course looks better than it actually plays. It is currently in "winter mode"-- no grass on greens (painted dirt), and winter rye in fairways that isn't even mowed. They recently raised prices too,. There is no grill, no food or drinks available, and no cart service. The marshalls don't really do anything--when we made the turn, a single walker tried to cut in front of us .
Great winter condition
The fairways are awesome and the greens are great but could be even better if golfers would REPAIR YOUR BALL MARKS!! Also, use the rakes provided in the bunkers. I saw footprints of golf shoes in the sand, shoeprints of people who know better than to avoid raking.
