About
Jay Riviere built this course in the 1970s to offer a non-military alternative for golf in Killeen. The conditions have improved since the updated irrigation system was installed in the 1990s, and the greens are known for consistently being in solid condition. The course has been renovated in 2005 by Lee Singletary. You’ll face a good combination of tee shots at this course, with both narrow and wide fairways.
Start off with some patience, if you can survive the more difficult front nine, you’ll be confident and in good position for a low round when you face the easier back nine.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take Hwy. 190 west and exit FM 2410. Turn right and look for Roy Reynolds Dr. Turn right again and look for the course on the left side of the road.

Golfer Reviews
Course condition
Course in great condition after over seeding fairways for winter. Greens in good condition smooth and fast. Pretty course with green fairways and landing areas. Some of the sand traps need some work, thin sand and lots of small rocks.
Enjoyable course
Realy enjoyed playing here..interesting layout in nice condition . Great value too..must play
Carts in 45 minutes before dark. "But I paid full price!"
Nice course but you can't play an afternoon round of golf without having the carts in by 7:30. Are you kidding? Charge me for a full round of golf but require me to bring the cart in after 15 holes? What? The pro shop guy followed us around the course on our last several holes (13-15.) It was ridiculous! Really? i'm pretty sure the golfers are gonna quit at dark without the gestapo watching. It didn't even get dark till after 8:15 pm! "I hope the Pro gets home by 8" is not what I was thinking when I gave the man my money. Never going back to Killeen even though I enjoy the Mall, the food and the sites on base.
Best muni in central Texas
Stonetree has a nice 18 hole layout, with an excellent putting green, practice green and driving range. Everything is well maintained and you can't beat the cost. All staff is friendly, from the pro shop, to the player's assistants, to the green's superintendent and crew.
Great local course
This is a great local course for the price you pay. It's a very open course, so it gives you some forgiveness but it certainly has some challenging holes. Hole #11 is an anomaly, I cannot believe someone thought up that one, it's incredibly hard. There are a few holes that have the risk/reward play which every golfer loves to have (3, 10, 15 and 18.)
I love the course
Stontree golf course
Stonetree is always in excellent shape. Their greens keeper makes sure of that year round. If you get a hot deal on golf now its totally worth playing even in the heat of the day.
Play Fast....
Course was good but seems like there is only a few minutes between groups along with groups of 6. I play a lot and play fast but there were singles up our butts constantly and people letting others play through every other hole. 2 days same thing both days. A Thursday and a Saturday. Greens were sanded so that sucked too. Driving range was good but like 15 balls in a large bucket. It was extremely hot so I appreciate they had someone out there driving around with water. Decent layout if you like to hit driver. Good condition. Went there twice. I'd go back.
Stonetree GC Killeen, TX
The best maintained course in the Killeen-Temple Central Texas area. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Stone Tree Is The Place To Be
I found that the entire course was clean and very well cared for. The only comment I have is the ball cleaners news to have water or cleaner on them. But overall awesome course and staff.
Great Muny
Great Muny track. Greens roll well, with only 2 excretions (Holes 2 and 16). This course is a lot of fun. Fair, challenging, with plenty of opportunity for sticking it close. Good practice facility, too. Go play!
Swinging in the Rain!!
The rain was pounding all morning and the night before, they were still able to open up the back 9 so we played in twice, extremely great condition, greens and fairways great shape. Best condition course in this area for sure...love the 18th Hole...
Beautiful challenging course
This was the first time I played this course but I will be making another trip very soon. Very challenging but very fun
Slow pace
Sometimes members are allowed to play in large groups of five or more really slow the pace. Marshalls let it go then give you a warning about the 90 Degree rule
One of the best local courses
there's not many options in the Bell county area, but you can always count on stonetree to have great fairways and greens
A perfect day for golf
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and the course is in excellent shape. I love playing this course but I only play the if I can get a deal through GolfNow or twilight hours. Its a shame the facility doesn't offer military discount for a city that is heavily populated by military personnel and they don't offer GolfNow discounts for weekend play. Psst, go figure.
straight forward and easy to play
corse is in great shape due to rain greens were soft and easy to get ball to stop. watch the grains of the green they will fool you.
Straight, but still has it's challenges
The course layout is pretty much a bunch of straight holes, but there's enough water & sand to make things interesting. Course conditions were excellent and great pace of play for a holiday. My friends and I always enjoy this course, but it's usually $38 on weekends/holidays for 18 & cart. If you can catch a Hot Deal for $10-$15, there's not a better place to play in the Killeen/Ft. Hood area.
