About
Jay Riviere built this course in the 1970s to offer a non-military alternative for golf in Killeen. The conditions have improved since the updated irrigation system was installed in the 1990s, and the greens are known for consistently being in solid condition. The course has been renovated in 2005 by Lee Singletary. You’ll face a good combination of tee shots at this course, with both narrow and wide fairways.
Start off with some patience, if you can survive the more difficult front nine, you’ll be confident and in good position for a low round when you face the easier back nine.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take Hwy. 190 west and exit FM 2410. Turn right and look for Roy Reynolds Dr. Turn right again and look for the course on the left side of the road.

Best practice facilities in the area.
Course in good shape. Greens were fast and fairways were green for a December.
Great value
Even though it was wet and cart path only.....I will be back. The course is in very good shape. Greens rolling very good. Fairways are on point. Will play and recommend this course.
immaculate
I live in Austin Texas..and this by far one of my favorite golf courses..it is ALWAYS in PERFECT condition. .its well worth the trip amd money..i HIGHLY recommend this course to anyone. .you can ALWAYS do better...i think they need to step it up on the dress code. .the course is WAY to nice for people to just wear anything on the course...if you play golf at a nice course..you should DRESS nice to show your appreciation. ..this course is my friday get away and ritual now..thanks
Stacked up
The course is very nice as is the staff but with only 12 minutes between teetimes you get stacked up very quickly the first time I played this course I thought it was because it was a Friday but just played it again on Wednesday and it was the same thing waiting 5 to 7 minutes each time you want to hit the ball
Gave it a try
Was heading to Austin for a job. Reviews sounded good , so I figured why not. Nice surprize...very nice course. Greens are superb and fairway are nice and wide...AND GREEN with GOOD STAND OF GRASS. Only thing I didn't like was allowing 5 somes on a Sunday....slowed down play. When my job was over.....I played this course again on my way back to Dallas. I will swing through Killeen from now on when heading south.

Central TX can be tough on golf courses especially when water is tough to get for fairways...however this course has done a great job on keeping it green...in every since of the word....
Played it many of times when it was Killeen GC, and it was never in this good of shape....

Beautiful course with nice greens...very playable for all players.
Great course
I've played all the courses in the Killeen and Harker Heights area and this was by far the best course. From the difficult Par 3's to the long and bendy Par 5's, it offered an opportunity to use various shots and clubs. The greens were a little hard but well maintained and quite fast. The layout of the course is phenomenal and offers scenery unlike the other local courses. Definitely my favorite local course and where I will be playing from now on.

This course is well maintained
I PLAYED THIS COURSE WITH MY GRAND DAUGHTER AND ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. THE COURSE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THE FEES WERE A SUPER DEAL (I USED GOLFNOW.COM).
Great Course - Challenging, but not Difficult
Wow. I knew nothing about this course until I showed up. Very nice. There is challenge, but not crazy. The greens have nice slopes and changes, but the fairways are fairly open. Greens were in great shape. Several interesting hole layouts. Somehow I missed the stone tree - ask prior to tee off so you don't miss it. I look forward to going back to see it.
My brother hit the stick on the first Par 3 and had a 2 in birdie - almost his first Ace.
Probably the nicest course in Killeen, TX.
Stonetree is a nice course to play at. I've played here several times now and each time really enjoyed being on the course. The course is somewhat challenging and has some decent views. The pace of play can be pretty slow on the weekends but nothing too terrible that I would avoid playing here. They don't offer military discounts which is disappointing especially since they're located right in the heart of a military town and they maintain their business because of the Soldiers that pay to play here. I can come here and pay $31 for a weekend rate or I can drive a little further to Sun City and pay $30 with a military discount, get a free bucket of range balls, and the courses in Sun City are much nicer. But if you're looking to stay close to town, this is probably your best option, next to playing on Fort Hood. The courses on Fort Hood are comparable to Stonetree and you'll end up paying less for your green fees.
